The best anime of the season can have a thread? If you are not watching, consider doing so now. Kill la Kill is a fast-paced action anime that easily holds the viewer since the first episode with its simple plot and characters. Another amazing production from the same studio responsible for Gurren Lagann (row row fight da powah!) and some other great animation.

Kill la Kill is set at Honnouji Academy, a fictional high school in Tokyo Bay set in Japan that is dominated by its fearsome student council, led by Satsuki Kiryuin. The council members wear special uniforms called Goku Uniforms that grant them superhuman abilities, which they use to oppress the rest of the school's students and staff. Ryuko Matoi, a student wielding half of a scissor-shaped longsword, transfers to Honnouji Academy in search of the owner of the other half of the scissor blade, the person who killed her father. Defeated by the council after interrogating Satsuki over the killer's identity and whereabouts, Ryuko comes across a sentient sailor uniform she names Senketsu, who puts himself on Ryuko. Using Senketsu's special abilities, Ryuko stands up against Satsuki and her henchmen, the Elite Four, to liberate Honnouji Academy from their iron grip and solve the mystery of her father's murder.

I was going to watch it, but every time I tell myself that I'm going to watch an anime, I always become too lazy to search for episodes.

If you want I could give you a pass for Crunchyroll which is a site for legit anime viewing. They have Kill la Kill

It's not like I disagree with just watching it streaming, I just don't like the quality and the hassle usually

Yeah, I was supposed to give him a Guest Pass for Crunchyroll too, but now I noticed I just ran out of passes, lol.

I sent mine to him

I haven't watched the show yet. My favorite show of the season is Hunter x Hunter or Log Horizon.

My problem with anime right now is sometimes I get to really like something and then it doesn't do well in the original market and thus isn't continued past the 21 episodes that marks a single season. I really liked BTOOOM! but apparently the Japanese hated it. So they didn't conclude anything and pretty much left season 1 unresolved in terms of story.

I just watched the first episode.
Is this show even real?

I just watched the first episode. It was great. Very frenetic, high energy action that doesn't linger too long on anything. You ever watch a show where the people are supposed to fight and stand there for twenty minutes grimacing at each other? This doesn't do that and gets right straight to the point. It's also really funny, the promotional material always made it look a bit like a drama.

My biggest gripe is the fanservice. Even in the first episode alone there's a huge amount of it and while I don't usually care, a show shouldn't have so much.

It just starts like this and keep going until the third episode.

In episode 8, why wouldn't they just call the Automobile Airsoft Club (or whatever it was called) the Drive-By Club? That makes so much more sense.

It might have been a direct translation that would have benefited from something that made more sense in English.

Also, pretty sure this show exists primarily to piss off female cosplayers.

Agreed, I do actually have a friend who wants to cosplay as Ryuko but her boyfriend won't let her do it anyway.

I've been watching the whole show all day. I'm on episode 18, and I have come to the conclusion that Kill la Kill was written by M. Night Shamalyan. That's the only way I can explain all these plot twists.

Tell her to ignore her boyfriend in the name of feminism.

Well, I finally finished all 19 episodes. Too bad the Crunchyroll code that A-Stump gave me expires in two days, because episode 20 comes out in three, but only for paid users.

Well, Horrible Subs are pretty fast for releasing their subtitles, at least for the Kill la Kill ones.
I personally like being a subscriber since Crunchyroll is meant to be watched anywhere and the subscription price is ok.
