Legend of Zelda Netflix show in the works

No, please no.
we already had the old Zelda fan film and look how that turned out.
Hero of Time? Mind you that was only a fanfilm. The budget for an official Zelda TV show would allow for much better quality than what any fan project can offer.
This should mean that hopefully we won't be hearing these lines anytime soon:

No matter how good or bad this will be nerds will freak the fuck out. Can't wait.
Allow me to oblige.

Nope. Nope nope nope nope nope. Been a Zelda fan since I was six years old when I got the very first Legend of Zelda game and Nope. I have no faith in the project. Nope nope nope they will fuck it up. They will. Fuck It Up. This is going to lead to nothing more than a deluge of Zelda fantards losing their fucking minds, and whatever TV Tropes dipshit bleeding into the Zelda mythos and polluting the fanbase even further. By Din, the deviantART Zelda communities are going to lose their collective minds.... even money is one Dobson stripping naked in a blind panic and being arrested for public lewdness when they show the first trailer.

And besides, we already had the best live action Legend of Zelda decades ago.

I wish that the Horrifying rating was available in Off Topic...

Wasn't there already that horrible Zelda cartoon back in the late 80's/early 90's, where Link goes "Well EXCUSE ME princess!" all the time? Link sounds dumb whenever people make him talk. He should stay a heroic mime.

Thankfully I haven't seen it yet.

Although CD-i Zelda games were absolute shit garbage, the cutscenes as bad as they are, gives it character and hilarity.

Allow me to oblige.

That was beautiful. Interesting that chime at the end of the commerical was around in the 90s. I guess that was always a thing Japan did with their commercials until it was brought to America.

Because I'm such a stupid sperg, I ended up coming with a fair few thoughts on the matter.
I'm... not actually terribly opposed to the idea of giving him a voice of some sort. Perhaps they could go the Hyrule Warriors route and have an interpreter of some sort? The cartoon and cd-i links would have been terrible no matter who they were pretending to be. Link did talk in the various mangas and while I haven't read them beyond skimming so far, nothing especially bad came up.

However, I think it would benefit from having a sizable cast to fill out the good guys, probably best with some familiar faces like Saria, Ruto, Darunia and such and Malon, it's been ages since we've seen her outside of remakes

Ganny, I love ya but you'd be a pretty terrible choice for recurring/standard villain. Ganondorf's the kind of guy who's meant to be the final boss, the guy at the end rather than the guy who gets thwarted every week. He needs to be a threat.

For a more "regular" villain I'd probably dip into some of his followers and other lower-tier villains. We haven't seen Vaati in a while but since he at least had final-boss status before he's more of a choice for an arc-villain same with Zant who, despite not being a final boss, was still extremely prominent. Some of the others might be a bit too obscure but I think I found an absolutely perfect candidate:

They're both followers of Ganondorf, shown as plenty capable of acting on their own accord (basically being the big bads of the Oracles games) and heavily implied in their appearances to be second only to Ganondorf but they don't have their own seperate goals like Zant did. They also seemed to be behind creating certain minions of Ganondorf (namely the Iron Knuckles) and brainwashing the Gerudo. Most of all:

They can be played for laughs. They don't really carry the same feeling of gravity that Zant and Vaati had, one could totally buy them wasting every week sending monsters after people or whatever. Basically they can be practically reduced to a joke without really becoming an insult unlike the others. Perhaps have Veran and Onox work under them as they did in the games to mix stuff up a bit?

Have it take place before even Skyloft came to be. There's a bonus manga in Hyrule Historia detailing with its creation and all. Make it about the first Link, there's some implication he was a hero before being imprisoned. Have the most frequent villain slot be taken by Ghirahim.

... I think I waste too much thought on these things.
