I'm surprised that people here don't post much about their own Lego builds (whether digital or not)

Double-posting, but Speed Champions has some pretty neat cars:

Many of them seem to be recolours of each other, which is kind of lazy, but oh well. Also peak cringe right here:

At least it's not a Twitch car, I guess?

Also City's got some pretty cool sets!

Sunroof on that Lifeguard Truck? Nice! Also I like the F1 minifigs, not really a fan of the Speed Champions ones though, but I get why they “recoloured” them since they wanted to be as accurate as possible to the real cars (the design is the same for every car because of aerodynamics) Although, they kinda butchered the colours. For example, the Aston Martin car in real life is a darker turquoise with a shiny coat, while the LEGO one is uhhh grass green?

My modern style blacktron I torsos and space helmets came in today. I've only rarely seen this, but one of the torsos had a crack that formed seemingly from me inserting the legs into it. Weird because it's a torso from before 2014-15 (anything after that time is where I remember that problem starting) Then again the legs I used were from after that so hmm...
Camera batteries are dead but there's enough pictures of people doing similar things to what I just did that you can get an idea of what the figures looks like.

The left most one in this photo I found on image search of a bunch of custom blacktron guys is nearly an exact match to my new figures, save for the gun.

I'll send some more images though that I also found on the same image search because people really have done some neat looking parts combos. Might try making stuff similar to these if I get another sizable batch of minifig parts tied to blacktron.

I actually got some of the helmets in the last photo, but they all have a green splat pattern thing on them. I'll probably need to do something to remove that or get lucky and find blank ones if I want to use them in a similar manner.

EDIT: The modern boba fett mandalorian style backpacks work better on classic lego space styled figures than they do the licensed figures they're made for proportionally. Seriously try it sometime if you got some that aren't the standard sand green boba one.

EDITx2: It's also interesting/funnyto me how we now have a modern blacktron 2 style torso due to the new CMF series. So does that make it blacktron 4 if people called the modern remake blacktron 1 torso blacktron 3? Hmmmm...

I went to the Lego store near where I live for the double VIP points (it was the first time in a really long time since I have been) and there was a decent amount of young girls that were into Lego which genuinely shocked me. I always associate Lego being a male thing.
Also the lady that helped there was really cute

Lego's kinda always been a thing for anyone. One of the funnier memories I've had from back in the day is a secondhand retelling in like highschool or some shit by some female classmate about how them and some other person from class found their old lego bin and made a lego hitler mini figure. This was way over a decade back now, god damn.

Anyways that also reminded me I found out like a few years ago that those tropical themed lego sets they put out for a short period of time were supposedly aimed to gain market from girls or whatever but I think most people were just like "Ah yeah this is the beach/tropical island lego" cause the colors used while they could be spun as what lego was apparently trying to aim for were also just colors people generally associated with summer/beach stuff. ESPECIALLY AROUND THE TIME THESE CAME OUT. Seriously these things were just the colors of beach towels for lack of a better descriptor.

I think these sets spiked in price used a few years ago due to some people deciding they were "vaporwave" or some dumb shit like that.

Those are from the Paradisa subtheme. They're expensive now because the line introduced a lot of new colors for the early-mid 90s, as well as rare parts. And it's just a really cool theme and is widely considered to be one of the best subthemes Lego has ever made which adds to the value. I wouldn't say sets are prohibitively expensive though, but I already have all the Paradisa sets.

I've never understood the reverence for Paradisa. There have been many better seaside sets since, both in execution and concept. The 2011 Marina is a classic, and by the way, just looking at it now, it looks dated and retro, like how a ~2002 set looked in 2011. I remember when it was mind-blowing lol; in 10 years we'll probably think the current dustcollector diorama sets look dated. You will see the tears of time, I guess.

I guess with the success of Lego friends and now the flower theme, it's drawing them in as well.

I have somehow never seen this set or if I did I forgot about it completely. It probably looks "dated" because it's literally super fucking simple even for the time it came out. Looking at other sets from around that time it seems like some stuff went forward but then you had sets like this that were structured like the cheaper sets from a decade or 2 prior.

Like compare it to other sets from the time period, seriously. It's a weird spot where there was acombo of cost cutting and price bumping but also still complex or cool models sometimes.

Lego was for sissy Amerifats, real yuroRICH kids with Nordic genetics played with Playmobils back in the 2000s and early 2010s:
Playmobil isn't the same thing as LEGO, it's mostly stylized little playsets instead of blocks you can make little playsets out of. Still it's well known and liked for obvious reasons involving quality.

The HAZMAT playmobil guys I always liked.
EDIT: Just found out they rereleased these guys in a shitload of colors and I never knew, weirdly one of them is a firefighter and one is a beekeeper. The latter kind of makes more sense. They even swapped the sleeves out for gloves.

I remember having one very similar, but it was related to something about firefighters. EDIT: It was the one in the second image lol.

BTW here are my favorites:

I don't think it was this specific set the parts were from but the playset type ones both me and some friends owned back in the day had modular rocks and shit you could connect in various ways kind of like lego but not lego. These rocks came in a lot of playmobil sets but these are the only ones I can find a good reference image of.

Little spots with tabs that fold out and clip into the tops of other rocks or buildings with attachments for them. Pretty neat shit.

Aw man, I think I had some of these myself! I know I had the hospital, the police station (in the same style as the bank), a bunch of little furniture sets (I especially remember one with a green bed -- I still have the mom figure from that set), and something related to animals. Playmobil was kino, though not as engaging as Lego.
