Lego Thread - Because KF wasn't already autistic enough.

Yeah, when I was a kid, I liked the fact that you could just use your imagination. Here’s the good guys, here’s the bad guys, the rest is up to you.

Lego Pirates were the shit, I loved those.
Yeah Pirates is great, that's currently what I'm collecting at the moment is Pirates sets, specifically the ones from the first wave in 1989. I'm hoping to get some of the bigger ships but I'll have to be patient with that and either find good deals on eBay or just save for them.

Bionicle was peak. It had movies, games, books, and a killer story that kept you hooked. The toys were cool, ailen even. If anything, that's why there's still a fan base today. Nothing else that has come out from Lego is quite like it.
The first couple years were really interesting, and I was at the right age to really get hooked on all the lore and characters since I was 11 when it came out in 2001. I think after the Bohrok the next year is when it started to lose me but those first few years of Bionicle were incredible, mystical island robots that worship a dying god that's also their home is something that's never been replicated since.

06 was when I got into it. I still remember my first set, Toa Inika Jaller (but we all know it's Jala)

Still have his head and rubber mask, and somewhere that lightup sword. That was my era and I loved it. Still have all the movies on DVD and Mask of Light on VHS as well lol. I grew up on that shit, knew the lore, which was AMAZING, played MNOG, and was devastated when it died out (I was 9-10, ok?). I did manage to collect all the reboot sets, which was cool lol, even if the line crashed and burned.

After months of speculation, it has been confirmed by none other than himself.

Just2good has trooned out, and it aint pretty.

Also, the community is so fucked up with the sheer number of legit pedophiles like Teknomekanoid (who has the most legendary mugshot of all time), powerhungry troon mods on every single board, forum, and discord, and retards at the company itself (or ex employees like Faber and Farshtey). I could go on and on. Legos a hive of autism in the best and worst way.

Part of the reason why I felt like making a Lego thread would fit KF is because of the amount of spergs in the community. Honestly it's not surprising there's degenerates considering Lego is something is targeted towards children (or at least it used to be, every set I see now is an 18+ collectors thing that's overpriced) and is something that's pretty autistic to be into as an adult. Those things are a good recipe to have degenerates in a broader online community, see Sonic, Minecraft, etc.
But holy shit man, Just2Good legit looks like a stereotypical troon, the fake tits are too much man. :story:

Unlike most other nerd shit I discuss here, I actually lost interest in LEGO before the globohomo really started bleeding it dry (spiritually, not financially).

Still, I have fond memories of browsing the catalogues as a kid, and I kept most of my old Bionicle sets. I'm glad, too, because the aftermarket prices on titans are mortifying.

Just2Good is a tranny, Jang is a psychopath manchild, the lead designer at LEGO is a faggot forcing his diversity shit into every product he can, Bricktsar has probably murdered and eaten a hooker and TIEtheLegoGuy disappeared in Mexico

God fucking dammit the outage deleted my post but anyways his a pic of the new just2troon so you don't have to click the video:

Like I said, kind of sad, dude was getting better from a drug addiction that he had and I bet for sure that somehow played a part on him trooning out. Taking off the mantis mask was a mistake...

My favorite old theme is probably the Rock Raiders. I might still have an old bin with pieces from those sets somewhere....
Yesss, I fucking loved Rock Raiders. I had the Rock Raiders HQ as a kid, the base was just a big plastic thing that I'd use for all sorts of other builds. Usually it was combined with the plastic moon-crater bases from my uncle's old space sets, and a skatepark set to create the ultimate Skatepark Moon Fortress.

I ultimatly let the plastic thing go along with a lot of my other old Legos in the name of decluttering, it was a little sad to let them go but some kid probably is having a blast with it now and I don't need a fuckload of Legos that I don't even use.

Those are called raised baseplates, something that was popular with Lego designers in the 90s but was phased out in the mid-2000s. They're a bit polarizing with fans, some think they artificially raise the price of larger sets because large sets from that era have lower piece counts compared to similarly priced sets to today, but i personally love them. I think they're really versatile and I don't mind piece counts that are slightly lower in larger sets if they're interesting in other ways. (Play functions, interesting parts/colors, etc) And a lot of sets with raised baseplates I think succeed in that regard.

I also like the raised baseplates. I think the last set to have one was the 2011 Pharaoh's Quest pyramid. I know the 2006 hospital had one as well.

Yeah TLG were contracting the manufacturing of raised baseplates out to a 3rd party so when the Lego collapse happened they discontinued them to save money, and just never brought them back. They get to inflate piece count and overall price instead with brick built baseplates.
