I was surprised that there isn't a community watch about LinkedIn, I figured out it would have a lot of cows in it.

I don't really know who are the people who lurk there. Lots of Indians/Pakis, shit influencers who try to push their services and HR ladies sending the same fucking messages over and over. It's just lame and gay, the platform. You can't even troll there since you have your name linked to it and can easily burn bridges in case you need to look for a new place to work.

I don't know if this will gain traction, but hopefully it does.

This is why few people on Kiwi Farms interact with the LinkedIn community. All my online behavior is actively monitored and I will not take risks just to fuck with boring office drones on a shitty platform designed for desperate recruiters. They're not even funny.

That site has become so designated that normalfags call it "LinkedIndia". The comments on every post is a ganges of "saar i know your not sponsaring visa but I work hard and tops of my class please considar".

Nobody is using it as a recruitment site anymore because of it. If you see a job listing on LinkedIn it's because HR forgot to disconnect the auto-listing from Workday/Lever/Workable etc. and will soon realise their mistake when they get thousands of applications from unqualified Indians 5000 miles away with no visa.

I keep a LinkedIn account as I sort of need it for my job.

It's pretty much all:
- Indians brown-nosing and attempt to reverse-engineer viral posts with AI.
- Nigger/Pervert/Troon worship posts.
- Spam emails from (probably bot) recruiters looking for keywords in profiles.

Occassionally, you do see fights when dessert people start getting uppity about Palestine, which can be funny as it's so out of place there.

Oh, and Trannies, some based ethnicities don't hide their hatred for trannies when they post on LinkedIn and it's glorious.

I didn't know cake was also anti-semitic and also people, on top of it all also posting about it on a garbage job search platform.

If you have jobhunted before but have been off the market for awhile things have drastically changed for the worst.

There used to be several viable major job boards not too long ago but everything is mostly consolidating to StinkedIn. Sounds more convenient? Well maybe excepted StinkedIn has an interface that forces you to do several things in a way that wastes your time by several orders of magnitude. Something that should take a few minutes takes hours.

Aside from LinkedIn their are much smaller even bigger trashfires like Handshake. Where random recruiters will spam you with wildly inappropriate positions that have nothing to do with your background across the country for peanuts.

Job postings are ridiculously specific and demanding. Again this has been the case since the beginning of the internet but even more so today. You must have 50 years experience in the latest Golang hotness. V5 not V4. Fuck teaching you anything or learning on the job for a few days. You must drop into our lap fully formed with absolutely everything at the beginning.

In some fields there are a distinct lack of entry level positions. Everything is just senior director level with several years/decades of niche experience directly in the industry. The sort of people that start to not need StinkedIn.

The stories aren't wrong. Ghost jobs are a major problem. in many fields a sizeable percentage of postings on stinkedIn are ghost jobs and the majority of the rest are effectively ghost jobs. In that in the former your submission will go from your fingers straight to the trash while in the latter your submission will go straight to the trash or some database to sell or get hacked because there are a 100 applicants ahead of your or you got keyword filtered.

In addition to ghost jobs there are plain outright scam postings that exist simply to harvest your data for nerfarious purposes.

Everybody uses AI now. The applicants use it so if you're one of the chumps who spent 3 hours writing a heartfelt cover letter the old fashioned way you might be losing out to 200 other applicants who 'wrote' a better one than you in 5 seconds.

The employers also use AI to scan the likely AI applications. Some even use AI 'HR managers' now. These are really accurate. Down to being incompetent in the same way human HR managers are like not bothering to update you on the status of your application.

I genuinely believe it's impossible to get a job now unless an actual human being recommends you to another human being.
I implore everyone to start looking out for each other. The Jeets do it, get in the habit of doing it yourself.

I quit my job a few weeks ago due to not being able to keep up with the workload and the misery and shame it was causing me, and fuck me I feel like I've signed my own death warrant by doing so. I'm fortunate enough to have a roof over my head and not be broke (yet) but hearing how bad the job market is now makes me terrified for my prospects of finding a new job.

LinkedIn perfectly encapsulates the Enjeetification of the white collar workforce. Everyone is fake, job postings are fake, everyone lies about their current situation, etc. Lots of “advice” on how to use AI that will get you jettisoned from any serious employer (which admittedly is getting fewer and fewer these days). We have one person in HR who handles reporting fake profiles of people that claim to be working for us that don’t and it’s almost a full time job. It is always a chink or a jeet.

I agree that the corporate hustle thread is where most LinkedIn shit resides but you really can’t hate on that place enough so here I am.

On Thursday, got pulled into a conference room and got fired by an HR cunt on a laptop. Fuckwads still have my passport and college diploma because I was supposed to be flying to Canada for the company this month to do work and needed to secure a work visa.

Cocksuckers wouldn't even let me get my jacket or my meds from my desk..

Fuck it. I'm out then. Contact the one person still stuck there I trust to get my shit (he says he thinks he knows where the last of my stuff is).

Get into this LinkedIn shit. I had one since college. Updated my resume and my account.

Not only am I getting spammed by annoying AI bots, scam recruiters, and fake job offers, but now I got all the old managers messaging me, begging me not to move on and they will "figure something out"...which is going to basically mean I create an LLC, do my old job, but now have all the liability myself. I get to keep working for these idiots and HR gets to keep my head mounted on their wall.

And the annoying fucking thing is these AI recruiters keep offering me my position with this shit company.

I don't get how this site is useful at all.

If you have skills in certain industries, recruiters who have real job roles to fill will reach out to you instead of you applying blindly to 1,000 jobs that will never see your resume. That's the only remaining value.
What you are saying is absolutely true. Since I was "just a trainer", corporate wouldn't give me a corporate cell phone. I wasnt supposed to travel, even though I did about 80% of the time. I also handled the vast majority of the trouble calls. Our "help line" got outsourced to India so most customers just bypass them and went directly to me because of how useless they are.

So needless to say, I'm re-establishing my work contacts in real time as customers call for help and I have to direct them to the shit line. I think I must have texted my resume at least a dozen times this morning.

I honestly don't get why I bothered with that website.
