Lipstick Alley was created as an offshoot of the message boards on eddiegeorge.com, the personal website of former Tennessee Titans running back Eddie George. Lipstick Alley became a seperate forum when Eddie George asked the forum to be disassociated from his website. The manager of eddiegeorge.com, Janitor, moved the forum to a new domain he had lipstickalley.com, thus leading to the birth of the Lipstick Alley forum:

Janitor's notes on the origins of the name Lipstick Alley:

Janitor would eventually move on from Lipstick Alley and sell the board to one of the forum members Curious Too, who now goes by The Admin:

Users of Lipstick Alley are referred to as "Fonts". The community is mainly comprised of African American females. Fonts enjoy having "heated" discussions about "volatile" topics such as single mothers, obesity and interracial dating. The forum also discusses celebrities in a similar way to how Kiwi Farms discusses and follows lolcows.

Hate Speech Rules:

One interesting feature of Lipstick Alley's rules regarding speech is their use of the Greek letter μ (Mu, the equivalent of the letter M). On Lipstick Alley, for certain works, particularly "sexual" and "fuck", the Fonts will replace the "u" with a "μ" resulting in words like "sexμal" or "fμck". This may possibly be the result of a word filter or is a unique form of self censorship on the forum.

Lipstick Alley would create a thread titled "Far-right website Kiwi Farms offline after Cloudflare drops them following public backlash" to discuss CloudFlare dropping the Farms. Suprisingly, despite the forum's reputation, Lipstick Alley users actually defended Kiwi Farms:

They even called out users in the thread defending Keffals, pointing out that Lucas and Bobposting were giving HRT to minors behind their parents' backs:
