Live service hate thread - Apex Legends player's EA account permanently disabled after typing "stfu" in game - All games on his account stolen, unable to log in to download them

LoL has been super autistic with their chat bans. Saying anything and winning the game against some limp wristed faggot who's assmad that you beat him, so he mashes the report button is enough to do it sometimes.
LoL lost me as a paying customer years ago due to their desire to coddle faggots and protect them from some good old fashioned shit talking in a game.
Remember this kind of censorship is nothing new, remember the basketball game on xbox that gave you a penalty if you swore in your living room?

Mind you people are still faggots in game (LOL) no matter what.

This thread reminded me why I stopped playing on console. I remember when I was playing For Honor on Xbox one cause I was a fagget and I was beating these to faggets up and wiping the floor with them and was feeling pretty good. So they started to send me messages shit talking me being ass mad saying I'm a loser and cheater so I just called them retards and they reported my account and it took my ability to send messages away for a week but I could still receive them.
So they then started gloating and being smug about it to me with haha got your account muted haha over a few days It just left such a bad taste in my mouth I stopped playing on console all together and got a computer.

league of leggings doesnt have voice chat my dude, they have a automated word filter system which yeets you out of the honor system and / or restricts your chat for a certain amount of time.

i left a game early and since i only play ARAM they gave me a 5-ranked-match restriction, and telling me to play 5 normal games first before i can play ranked again lololol.

i guess banning accounts for 14 days and permanently after that, for writing "kys" and "nigger" lost them enough players so they switched to chat bans instead.

I've had a dozen or so chatbans for saying things like 'rekt' and 'lol that was funny'. Apparently people are think skinned faggots and revenge report, which makes the AI powered chat banner protect their hurt feelings.

LOL has voice chat, but it's not used much because it's more unstable than your mother. But yea, you get yeeted out of the honour system and it takes years to get back to honour 5. I've had a ban a couple of weeks ago, but when I emailed Rito, they said 'whoops our bad' and reversed it, without saying what the reason was.

Rito should focus on removing players who ruin games, instead of hurt feefees. Why would I pay money for a game where I can lose everything because of some fag?

Necro post, but I had a thought.

Live service as a concept is not a bad design. Free, ever evolving content through regular updates, player feedback, game modes, etc within a community is nothing short of a positive for the gaming industry. However, the gaming industry has turned a potentially good concept against itself through greedy, predatory monetization which follows itself to an inevitable "death."

Halo 3 is one first hand experience of a "live service" game that did well for itself at its peak. Regular playlists added through matchmaking, which Halo 3 still maintained half a million players even a couple years after launch. No Man's Sky is another great example of a "live service" title. Hello Games more than made up for its horrible launch and radio silence through substantial expansions and developer updates.

Fortnite should go without saying.

The issue I have with a game as a live service is not just the predatory monetization or how its just an over priced rental but the lack of archival preservation when they discontinue supporting the game they just shut the servers off and move on to next project and those that liked playing the game will be left with nothing other than the memories.

that's part of the reason why most people agree that they are technically fraud. It also supports the argument that these companies don't really give a fuck about their games, and are just soulless money hungry leeches.

I never got the impression that EA was anti-woke, given the sheer amount of woke shit they put in The Sims 4 (i.e. gender customization, various Pride flags, the sheer amount of Pride stuff in My Wedding Stories, pronouns), the Pride flag billboard in NFS Unbound, and Battlefield 2042 had a specialist that ticked off almost all of the woke criteria in Sundance, a black French non-binary anarchist that uses a wingsuit.

I've slowly grown overtime to feel not up at night guilty about pirating games now that companies implement such draconian measures. The more we realize this, the better.
