Locked threads in the sidebar; what is the point?

Is there a point to keep these half-paged, locked threads in the sidebar? For example this thread has been there the whole day: https://kiwifarms.net/threads/danie...ger-kittiesnstars-kittiesstarsnglitter.59250/ while being worthless for any viewers or potential commentators.

It looks like I can reply to it just fine, not that I'm going to because that thread is stupid and gay. I know that when you're about to get a halal thread with your full dox and so on that the mods decide that you can't post on certain threads that way it's easier to track your spergging on the forum.

Locked threads are going to be sent to the memory hole anyway because nobody can reply, so they'll just end up on page 100. I feel it is important for speds and PA requesters to have their stupid shit exposed to the community for everyone to laugh at.

Locked threads in the Chrischan subforum are pretty much the highlight of my day, when somebody with an account made in the last hour posts "I want to fist Chris's anus" and then there's just 10 posts calling them a faggot then a mod locking the thread. Don't deny me my little joys.

On a serious note, thread is locked due to the OP being meh. That doesn't stop you from making a thread to Talk to Staff why you want it unlocked and why you think the lolcow has potential though.
