This piece of shit forum is dog slow over the piece of shit fabric that is tor, so having to click "log in", then wait for a network request to complete before a form shows, was trash. The new change is great.

If we could remove the network requests from inserting a media link, and quoting messages next, then that'd be great. Maybe make it so logging in redirects you to the page you came from instead of the homepage. Little things.

Xenforo looks nice, but god damn it is so fucking slow to use over tor.
 
What the hell are you niggers doing? Maybe I have to select a new route once in awhile but this shitty forum is FASTER over TOR than it is on clearnet for me.

Maybe being jacked directly into the NSA’s datacenters has it’s privileges.

Naturally, tor will be a tad slower than clearnet under normal server load, but I don't notice any considerable speed issues on it either.
 
I still use the old login button just out of pure muscle memory, but I agree with OP. also, for the record, tor has always been pretty responsive for me dating back to the dropkiwifarms days.

Tor has been utter trash for me from the start and seeing it referred to as "back to the dropkiwifarms days" has instantly turned my old bones to dust. As an example I clicked on my own name up top and the popover took about 1600ms to show up. Clicking "insert quotes" took 966ms to load. "Insert media" took 927ms. As a testament to learned helplessness, I consider those results actually pretty good. That's how bad it is, shit is nearly a second to do anything, and a user is like "hey not bad."

The last time I used KF over the clearnet was many many years ago though, so god knows if it's any faster. Perhaps it's xenforo's fault. Well of course it is, the examples I gave shouldn't be separate requests anyway, but that's not my point.

XenForo should be DDoS resistant by design, without the pointless network requests. We'll probably have to wait for that.

For anyone who needs a still faster option, bookmark and load the login page directly since it's not loading any of the stuff on the home page (such as a video).
