Malfoid has better hair.
It also helps that this is a mainline series character that's getting genderbent and is familiar with the whole fanbase rather than some spin-off prequel game that people can't even play anymore from what I understand.

I like Malfoid, but I feel like the more characters you bring through Rule 63, the higher the likelihood of them just degenerating into goonerbait. It's like a lot of internet artists don't know how to really design a female character, so they just give them proportions that activate neurons. Even some Malfoid art comes close with the bulgy thighs and absolute territory.

Yeah, gender bending Ron for example is degenerate. That makes the story much worse.

There's a reason why my favorite iteration actually just has Malfoid alone flipped. Crabbe and Goyle being her goons still, and not bent either, serving as loyal guards and just people she can vent to.

Same for Ron staying the wingman, though tomboy Ronnie is also appealing in its own way. Often just gooner shit though.

I just enjoy seeing people be able to post anything about Harry Potter without being shouted down by idiots mad at Rowling. I enjoy Malfoid for the way it could fit really well into the original story, I like all the off-the-wall shitposting and such for all the other characters, and the Rule-63ing of other characters is just enjoyable to see what “canon” choices become part of it, like Ron having one eye covered and constantly eating chicken. Plus, ACTUAL RULE 63, not “I made them trans” stuff.

It all has its own appeal, and it can all be its own thing rather than everything mixed together.

The other thing I think that confuses people is male centered romance stories are not self inserted. Men dont self insert the way women do. They like to identify with the characters in the sense that they see aspirational traits and can empathize with their struggles. But fundamentally men dont think they ARE the character.

Which is why efforts to slut up Malfoid fall flat. Men instinctively understand that no no, this girl is not for ME. Shes supposed to be Harry Potters wife. Not mine. More importantly, men dont want to see the hero wife a hoe. The hook for men is in seeing another man get the princess, and think to themselves "I could do that." That is how male centered romance works.

The perversion of this is obvious. "Oh, so you are okay with Malfoid cucking you with Harry?". Again though, that's not the point either because remember, its not a self insert. Men want to see the hero of the story get the girl. There is that intrinsic understanding that it's a story and Malfoid is not "real" in the literal sense. The point is to create that aspirational mythos, and invoke what is a positive male aspiration. Finding a worthy wife and having a family.

There has also been an utter drought of this sort of content in modern media. Such that even the Friday Night Tights crew cant recognize it when it appears and just assumed it was more gooner bait porn. The fact that this emerged organically from fan fiction speaks to a redemptive arc for that cesspit, but also to the utter lack of content like this that men are gathering around like they've found an oasis after 20 years in the desert.

*edit* and just to add, it just fits so perfectly in this context. Malfoid is quite literally a Wizarding world princess. And her name playing on the dragon theme just hits all the bars about the noble knight rescuing the princess from the dragon. Or in this case, saving Malfoid from her own destruction out of misguided family loyalty. Lucius is leading the Malfoy dynasty to disaster by siding with Voldemort, and shes going to go down with him. You can subtly show some charachter development by showing Malfoid having strong positive traits like Loyalty and Filial piety. But its been perverted by her father's sins.

So it's up to Harry to not just save the princess from mortal danger, but also the spiritual danger she is in.

Just as a side note, and I do prefer the line drawing art, but the quality of the AI scenes being done is nuts.

The yearning made me think of the melancholy of the Samurai Champloo credits so I made this. If anynigger has a twitter and also thinks it's good, please upload for me, I'm not making an account.

Damn you Malfoid. How dare you make me feel feelings. Positive, optimistic, happy feelings from childhood.

I was never into Harry Potter as a kid and didn't even see the movies till I was in my 20s, far beyond the age range for it. I understood the appeal for younger kids, but not for adults.

But this is cute dammit, and it's annoying how well it resonates with me. Are we all just so starved for media like this?

Also, as an aside, the best ending in my mind to this story is Malfoy keeping the elder wand. She would still be at heart who she always was. Harry didnt change her personality, he simply redeemed it and directed it towards a positive end.

There can even be a slight of hand where she tricks Harry into thinking hes buried the elder wand with Dumbledore, but instead shes kept it. "For the best" she thinks. "I love this insufferable man, but he is so painfully naive. It's up to me to keep him out of trouble. especially since he seems so determined to become an Auror".

She allows herself a sly smile. "And the children as well. What a shock some foolish scum might have thinking that the path to get back at Harry is through his home and heirs. Only to find that the basilisk was coiled around its nest."

Eh I'd rather she throw it away like Harry did in canon. Make it a show that she no longer has this ambition for power.
