I saw a foid that looked like malfoid
Me and my buddy had a soybooru style useless nigger war
nigger war about JK rowling that night
Worse, it was a boomer camping isekai that was ripping off greatest generation camping fantasy like My Side of the Mountain.I actually don't think you could. It's a boomer camping fantasy and there are five books of him doing the same dumbass shit. It's a decent book when you're like 8, I liked it a lot as a little girl, but it's not as good as other YA fiction from that time period.
To have a tsundere "fix" the MC would lead to incredibly weak characterization and essentially just be a self insert wish fulfillment story. Is she that toxic? It is a base bitch tsundere. The idea here is that he would fix Harry's libshittery. He isn't fixing her, she is fixing him.
I would like to imagine Malfoid's darker conflict with Harry, as opposed to the fantastical romance that is imagined within the fanom.
I think the Malfoid switch + romance works best as a blend of both. Malfoy is arguably the most consistent antagonistic force to the main trio across the first three books (not necessarily the biggest antagonist of course, just the one which is a pain in Harry & friends' asses the most) before becoming less important later as Voldemort increasingly steals the show, and I think the story would lose a lot if you change that or sand Malfoid's rough edges down by comparison. Think someone else mentioned it earlier in this thread but Goblet of Fire's Yule ball makes the most sense for the place where this changes & the first real glimpses of any real romance between her & Harry can be allowed to emerge, mirroring Ron/Hermione.I feel as though Malfoid is not accurately depicted as a character in the fanon. People will draw the genderbent version crushing over Harry.
I have been reading through the books lately and Malfoy is depicted as a smug child who was unfairly treated by Harry. As shown in a meme posted earlier in this thread from the movie.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=351Aa5q_S98Malfoy shows great sadness watching Dumbledore give 200 points to Gryffindor, taking away Slytherin's victory.
Malfoy is extremely toxic within the start of the next book because of this. (Where I am at.) He was much more welcoming to Harry in the first book, only to watch him take away his glory. He goes as far as to using wizard slurs at a young age. This creates a conflict between the two that is shown later in the series, albeit through Harry's biased lens.
I appreciate watching Malfoid and Harry combine their efforts to take down Voldemort and feel as though that moment would've been better. I am pointing out that it is not all sunshine and rainbows, and feel that this is accurately depicted in the Sectum Sempura part where Malfoy is wounded to near death by Harry who later runs away.

Draw Malfoid putting a Sonichu medallion on VoldeCUCK.I'll be honest, 90% of the reason I'm in this thread is to see if anyone's posted one of my Malfoid pics yet.
A lot of these miss the visual language regarding Malfoid’s hairstyle. The movie got Malfoy’s perfectly: his hair combed back lends towards an aristocratic look that implies a time commitment not available to plebeians, but lacking any whimsical elements other, less-blood-focused, wizards would employ. The original image got it right in one. Giving her long hair that would take time and probably another pair of hands to maintain without any bangs to hide an aristocratic forehead is perfect visual storytelling.
I am personally a big sucker for the sappy love-at-first-sight fairytale sort of thing, but the ages that the story covers leaves a lot of room for ambiguity and back-and-forth IMO.Other than that - keep Malfoid the chudette jackass and fierce rival to Harry that Malfoy was canonically, any romantic interaction between them at this stage should be kept minimal/nonexistent (and frankly they're still too young to be looking at each other like that in these books anyway).
Also on this specific note, I've been reminded that Harry & Malfoy actually have an only slightly less bloody confrontation much earlier in the sixth book before the infamous Sectumsempra scene, where Malfoy petrifies Harry after catching him eavesdropping in the Invisibility Cloak and stomps on his face to break his nose. Harry's not really the type to keep grudges and IIRC doesn't even think about this incident when he nearly kills Malfoy in the bathroom later, but in general their rivalry is at its worst & most violent in Half-Blood Prince, and in a sense he gets (more than) even with Malfoy for the train episode in their fight. If anything, Malfoid stepping on him with high heels might motivate him to put real malice behind his spell before he realizes what it actually does, lmao.I appreciate watching Malfoid and Harry combine their efforts to take down Voldemort and feel as though that moment would've been better. I am pointing out that it is not all sunshine and rainbows, and feel that this is accurately depicted in the Sectum Sempura part where Malfoy is wounded to near death by Harry who later runs away.
My commissions start at $200Draw Malfoid putting a Sonichu medallion on VoldeCUCK.
Adorable but GODDAMN GIVE THAT WOMAN A REST.
Exactly. It would be a relationship that follows the character's own growth. The immature, infatuated tsundere malfoid and younger harry relationship could fizzle out and be a kind of failure to launch, because that kind of thing is really unsustainable. You could then write a more serious kind of rivalry as they get older.I'm also in the camp that doesn't expect Harry x Malfoid to be a perfectly happy fairytale romance with only nonconsequential tsun-tsun fighting between the pair, all in all. Especially in the 6th book, they do a fair bit of brutal shit to each other that they'll both have to awkwardly acknowledge & apologize for later
He's trying, but she does this leglock thing and, well, she always was a champion at broom riding.Adorable but GODDAMN GIVE THAT WOMAN A REST.
