Ah, the resurrection making Renegade Shepard basically a Terminator is one of my favorite visual clues in the game.

Mark Meer is mediocre-to-good in ME1 but starting with ME2 & ME3 he's awesome. I think is just experience in voice acting.
Anyways, there's one epic line from ME1:

He also repeats it in ME3 when dealing with the indoctrinated hanar diplomat.

that's not a renegade shepard, it's just the ambient lights that makes paragon shepard look renegade.
the renegade dialogue just burns asari for being sluts instead of fighters, liara even gives shepard a side look.

i'd like to vent that i hate female shepard players, most of the videos with renegade shepard shit talking vasir are from femsheps and her VA's entire renegade lines sound like she is annoyed at her kids, which is funny because the VA is a carpet muncher...

Meer's progression from playing through Mass Effect 1 to 3 is very visible. There are others too, like Liara's. In Mass Effect 1 she sounds stiff and minimally acting outside of Noveria pre-boss fight dialogs. In 3 she's much better, while female Shepard is once again trying to sound badass but comes out as annoyed

This guy gets it. I’m still that mad too. If you want to know why I’m mad, this is why:

Meer also sounds more natural if you mix renegade and paragon dialogue. Female Shepard sounds like she's going through her period while making her TikTok about how Lindsay Clancy is innocent.

Despite 3 being a mixed bag, Meer fully comes into it and as a whole he ends up the better choice. Hale starts out OK, but as the series slides in quality so does her performance. Meer starts relatively decent but by the end he kicks ass no matter the dialogue option

God I loved mixing Renegade and Paragon options. No other game seems to have done that well.
Despite other games neutering it because it was too "black-and-white", mixing them up actually felt like proper role-playing. Anyone just going l strictly with one were just min-maxing and missing the fun of the system. ME3 fucked this up, but then again you were only rewarded for doing a strictly paragon route anyway in that.

Other games before yeah they had a good/bad/to the point/evil systems but for the most part they were "do a quest or get locked out of it" if you play with their morality systems. ME played with the idea of reacting to quests as they were happening which IMO hasn't been done right since.

Even in 3 Id say it still gets some really good use in small talk.

I prefer Mark Meer if only because he hasn't self fellated about capital r Representation due to the role, or filmed himself fake crying because his character was on the box.

with the advent of save editing the games becomes so much better if you edit the paragon/renegade points, there is also legion being save edited earlier which shows he has a lot of dialogue for the OG version of the game, you can mod early recruitment of the companions in LE, though i'd like to see a mod that ports the textures from LE to OG versions because me no likey LE.

My pet theory has always been that they are prehistoric humans abducted and genetically modified by the Protheans. Also they fucking suck and so does their shitty Space EU that they created to impose a bunch of rules on all the other races which they see no need to actually follow themselves. See e.g. forcing every other species to public domain any Prothean tech they find, while the Asari sat on the motherload of Prothean tech and kept it a state secret. Mass Effect's setting could actually be a lot more fun if you removed the whole Reaper thing and focused more on how the Council is actually fucking evil and deserve to have their shit pushed in.
This is why ME2 is still my favorite game in the series because you can work for Cerberus and the humans are dominating the citadel if you let the council die, there should've been more missions to destroy Batarian colonies and more options to casually shoot alien politicians like that one guy in Thane's loyalty mission. I'm not usually a HFY kinda guy but I REALLY hate the council alliance from mass effect because they're effectively every type of human politician that fucking sucks (and also because the asari are just the author's barely disguised fetish that screws everyone else over in a series that usually has pretty good species writing even if they're evolve way too fast), even the other aliens hate their ass.
The political side of the worldbuilding is honestly a lot more interesting than the reaper plot because of how much their society sucks.

What ME3 did to Cerberus is a crime against writing. ME2 Illusive Man did nothing wrong.

A civil war story about a faction composed of pro-Cerberus Humanity and the other races who were unfairly shat on by the Council (the Krogan and Quarians come to mind) vs the Quislings in the Alliance and the Big Three would have been far more interesting than the Reaper apocalypse story we got.

Well the reaper storyline had to be tackled eventually, the curse of the setup they created with their original plotline.
Now the mass effect storyline could very well have benefitted from being q game or two longer, but as it is Mass Effect just barely escaped the beginning of DEI gaming.
Imagine a conclusion to the mass effect story thst concludes in +2017

The first trilogy made it out okay, but Andromeda wasn't so lucky....
