I see the "WHITE GUYS ARE RAPISTS TOO" argument all the time and it totally ignores what makes these migrant crimes so abhorrent.
Obviously native citizens who commit crimes are total assholes and deserve to be punished by the law. But to me, what makes crimes committed by migrants worse than crimes committed by natives has nothing to do with race and everything to do with ingratitude. If I invited a person who was way worse off than me into my house, I fucking expect them to respect my home and everything in it. I expect them to follow my rules. After all, it's my house, and I'm doing them a huge solid by letting them stay in it and trying to help them out. So if they start beating my dog, stealing my money, breaking my stuff, and treating me with disrespect, of course I'm going to be furious.
I dunno, it's just the sheer level of disrespect and ingratitude that makes me seethe. Natives who break their country's laws are still awful, but at least they're not actively choosing to shit on their country's hospitality.
