A Ruger P-series would be a great OWB pistol. Just have that bad boy in a holster, 15 round mag loaded with Speer Gold Dots and on tap. Yeah it's heavy but that's also what it's designed for; to be a service gun. This is my old man's model btw, the 95DC, a bit smaller with a shorter 3.9 inch barrel but still chunky as fuck:

It wants to be a compact gun but it's too fucking fat for that.

If you guys ever see this game around it's really fun and satisfying and almost feels like a fancy dry fire practice. The gun slide recoils like old namco games and you do need sight alignment. I found it's best to aim with the top of the front sight under the bullseye not directly on it. There isn't a on-screen aiming cursor. It has a bunch of different modes. Bullseye, fruit, people, bottles

this is a budget setup for longer than typical engagement and works well in steel challenge competition or with a few police agencies (albeit not with a saint rifle). the JP EZ isn't drop in, but is more precise and robust imho than CMC, which i like as a drop-in trigger.

edit: speaking of S&W, i think i'll take my PC-9 (fancy 6906) to my friend's retro themed wedding - gotta rock the miami vice look but sadly the Bren Ten is too big to conceal for me.

So I've come into possession of a clapped out K frame S&W Hand Ejector that I want to trick out with slicked up parts, not sure if I want to snubify it or go full retard PPC mode.
I can't shoot DA revolvers worth a damn and I could use the practice, plus my idle hands require something to work on.

Thanks for the recommendations, you're a national treasure. For now, I'm going to buy a surefire flash hider for it, put my 4-16X50 vortex scope on it and stockpile ammo.

Time Crisis 1 and 2 were fucking amazing. 3 sucked because they just had that SMG you just held on target. I seriously considered rigging some kind of elaborate home wall projected design after arcades died. Never got to anything further than the basic blueprints in my mind. At this time CRT TV's were dead and required for pistol tracking. so I wanted to go screen projection and an adapter bar that could track old school light guns. I would then butcher an air soft pistol or BB gun with recoiling slide and run a a regulated PSI line from my shop compressor. The trigger would activate the light gun "fire" and a small air valve solenoid.

In theory I could rig any AR real of fake with a pneumatic weighted piston where the BCG went and just put the light gun projector down the muzzle break. The dream was reloading could be toggled to arcade mode or dropping some weighted mags. It's all possible but I'd be running a small pneumatic line, wiring for the connection to the console and fine tuning the whole thing. I worked out I could run a battery system on 315mhz common household frequency and a small air reservoir and the project gets even more complicated.

At a certain point I realized I'd be spending months on the project just to get something like time crisis to work on a realistic recoiling pistol

Three was the best one. It had the best boss fights in the series and got the most out of the weapon selection before the series started stacking on too much gimmicky gameplay and shifted in tone to be a parody of itself.

Are you thinking of Crisis Zone? That was the one with the unlimited SMG, still a fun game but yeah feels like an expansion/DLC rather than a full Time Crisis game.

Now that I've fired the Ruger 22 I got for my old man when we all went shooting, I want one. The Ruger 22 really is a laser blaster, a boatload of fun, especially with 25 round mags. We fired copper plated Aquillia from it. Worked fine enough. Know it's not the best, being mexican ammo, but it worked. Thinking of getting a Ruger with a birch stock and stainless barrel. Again, just a thought. But it'd be a fun plinker and good survival gun. Got the money already too. Just a matter of deciding is all.

I have my 10/22 takedown in the Magpul backpacker stock - great ergos and I love the extra magazine storage in the butt. Stick a red dot or a lightweight scope on and you've got damn near the best plinker on the planet.

I really like the Choate Sopmod stock for the 10/22. It adds a Sopmod adjustable stock without looking too tactical. I don't use the clip on thing that goes on top of the barrel it comes with. I'd rather nothing be touching the barrel like that.

You're probably right. It's been over a decade. All I can recall is SMG version was lame, like using a garden hose or some kind of Carnival game.

My point was Time Crisis was a lot of fun. The mild recoil and take concealment/cover made it more realistic challenging. Running a pneumatic system you could get WAY more realistic slide energy.

My idea was before the National wave of 80% Glock kits. With a real slide and frame you could dial that PSI high enough to feel like your slinging real lead maybe not 9MM or .40. I kept coming back to the Time Crisis home version thing and it just seemed like I'd be spending months engineering it especially if I wanted a drop mag reload and a wireless fake pistol that ran to the console. Maybe if I patented it and sold 100 units as "Time Crisis realistic upgrade package EXTREME!" or some marketing shit people love, retailing units for 2-3K, it'd be worth 12 months of my free time engineering something like that. I just cant see people buying it at that price or selling even 100 units.

In my head I have probably 20 plausible ideas not necessarily all firearms related for things to be engineering and patented. The million dollar question is: " I spend all the time and resources to develop this, will people actually buy it?" I tell all my clients if you pay me enough I will engineer anything possible. I've worked on escape rooms, small time Hollywood props and built IDK 10 firearms from scratch. Just be prepared when I tell you $15,000 if you want a secret remote control app in your cell to activate and swing a 150lb bookcase out and reveal a door or your SHTF setup behind it.

So, the hot rod parts for my Vector arrived and I got them installed. I wish the mag release pad was wider, more like the stock one that came on my Vector, but it's a minor quibble. The tri-lug adapter for my Hybrid 46m also arrived today. It's pretty cool, it just replaces the piston in the Charlie Piston Mount. I'm just waiting on the tri-lug muzzle device and the 9mm front cap, then I'll be able to mount it on my Vector.

I wish nerds could get an FRT working with the Vector, sadly they don't seem to be able to keep it from having detonations out of battery. The recoil mitigation on the Vector is supposed to do it's thing when cycling quickly, oh well.

I'm not sure how a forced reset trigger would work on the Vector. The fire control group is mounted upside down in the upper part of the receiver and the hammer hangs upside down from there. The bolt only makes enough contact with the hammer to reset it as it cycles back. There's no carrier group like on an AR15 to impinge upon the the parts of an FRT that actually make them work. I don't know what the proper terminology for the part is on an FRT, but there is this kind of secondary sear on the rear of an FRT group that gets pressed down by the rear edge of the cut out on the bottom of an AR15 bolt carrier group, the cut out that the fire control group sits within as the bolt cycles back and forth. So current FRTs are dependent on an AR15 carrier group to operate, and apparently a standard DI gas system. If the carrier group is too large, like on an AR10, or if it's a piston system, then the FRT won't work. There was a video I watched recently where they tried an FRT on a number of different platforms that use AR fire control groups. It would work on a Q Boombox, because Q uses a much stronger, more exotic kind of steel to make the carrier group on the Boombox and have it be the same size as an AR15 carrier group without it breaking. But it would not work in an LMT MWS308, Sig Spear LT, or a PWS piston AR either because the carrier was too large as to not trip the secondary sear, or because it wasn't a DI gas system. It did work on the new Daniel Defense 9mm AR, but I think it was the only gun that wasn't DI that it would work with, because the carrier was the right size to trip that secondary sear.

If someone did make a binary trigger, or somehow design an FRT that would work with the Vector you know your boy would jump all over that like a fat bitch does birthday cake. Or if the MG registry got reopened/NFA got the kibosh, then I'd send mine in to get the full giggle switch. I really dig the 2 round burst feature, and that would likely be the mode I'd use most since I think it's the most practical, especially in a Vector chambered for .45 ACP. In full-send the Vector has a cyclic rate that rivals the MG42, so even with the vectored recoil system it can be quite the handful in F/A. I'm sure F/A on a 9mm Vector is more manageable.
