You're right, I'm going to call up Tim Sundles and get his hottest pissing load to mince my hand in that Chiappa frag grenade.
God bless that man for doing his best to void Charter Arms warranties.

I remember hearing multiple stories of gun stores buying his .38 special loads just to get something on the shelf during the pandemic. Couple that with a bunch of new shooters getting sold .38 special revolvers because of fudds and you get multiple blown frames on the first shot.

One of the bigger reasons I don't buy one. I just know I'm gonna get blasted by it the one day I forget to tuck my thumb.

A buddy of mine did exactly the same thing the first time he shot it, I had forgotten to warn him. It's a mistake you will only make once.

It's a lot of fun. Someone else mentioned tweaks Chiappa made across generations. I didn't know there were generations, how do you tell which is which? That one is from 2019.

So don't take this as gospel as it's something I've put together on my own, this is just what I've seen.

First Gen - Very heavy double action pull
Second Gen - Improved trigger pull, no cylinder cut. When the new trigger was brought in they did offer a program where you could send your old gun in to get upgraded to the new one
Third Gen - Improved trigger pull and the cylinder is cut for moonclips

There might be more changes/improvements after this, I'm not sure, but those are the ones I am aware of.

I would guess you're in gen 3 range, but check your cylinder and see if it's cut or not. I think the newer guns came with moonclips as part of the package.

Sorry, I'm too lazy to read all the pages since Alex Pretti's death and I don't know much about firearms. Can someone explain what's going on here? It looks like it has a custom slide and the barrel is at a weird angle. Is it broken?

View attachment 8487876

I'm guessing you aren't too familiar with semi-auto handguns. Most modern semi-auto pistols are based around John Brownings short recoil operating system. With a Browning style pistol, when the slide is forward in battery the barrel and slide are locked together with a lug at the rear of the barrel on the top side which fits into a slot in the slide. When a round is fired the slide and barrel travel together in the locked position for a fraction of an inch until the barrel is prevented from further rearward movement (usually by part of the frame or a pin going through the frame and part of the barrel) and instead will tilt downward at the rear of the barrel and upward at the muzzle end of the barrel, thus unlocking the barrel from the slide and allowing the slide to continue moving rearward, extracting the spent casing from the chamber. The slide is under spring pressure and once it has gone fully rearward the spring will push the slide back forward, stripping a fresh cartridge from the magazine, and feeding it into the chamber of the barrel. As it continues forward, when it gets to the correct position the barrel will tilt back into its locked position in the slide and slide and barrel will travel forward together for a fraction of an inch until everything is fully back in battery and ready to fire once more. When the slide is locked back, such as an empty magazine or when the slide stop is manually engaged, the barrel will stay in it's unlocked and tilted position, which is what you are seeing in the photo.

There are several other operating systems for semi-auto pistols, such as rotating barrels, gas operated with rotating bolts like a semi-auto rifle, gas delayed blowback, roller-delayed blowback, roller-locked, flapper-locked, flapper-delayed blowback, simple blowback, and others. The famous Walther PPK was a simple blowback pistol, where the force of the gasses traveling down the barrel also push the spent cartridge case back out of the chamber and against the breach face of the slide, thus causing the slide to cycle, but this is typically done with smaller cartridges like .22lr, .25 ACP, .32 Auto, and .380 Auto. With a larger cartridge like 9mm Para, which is what Pretti's SIG P320 was chambered in, a more complex locked breach system such as the Browning Short Recoil system is required to ensure the gasses from firing the cartridge have lowered to a safe level before the firearm cycles. Otherwise harm could come to the shooter.

The tan color, as others have said, is nothing special. Most manufacturers offer pistols, rifles, shotguns, etc. in different finishes and colors. This is something that goes back to the 19th Century when manufacturers like Colt and Smith and Wesson would offer finishes like nickel plating, gold plating, and charcoal blueing as an option on their products on top of the basic blueing. Nowadays tactical and military styled firearms are most popular, so tans, browns, greens, and even full multi-color camouflage patterns are all the rage, along with basic black or grey.

There really is nothing all that special or even custom with Pretti's P320. It's just a fancier, more feature rich factory made variant of the basic bitch SIG-SAAR P320.

On the Pretti situation…

Can we get an update on if kicking fed vehicles while clearly carrying a firearm is a peaceful protest?

View attachment 8488175

I was assured if they see you with a gun while protesting these untrained guys are just looking to kill and will do so? Are all our rights compromised by unhinged feds acting unlawfully?

Can I get a Sinisral update on this?
-Now a confirmed history of resisting detainment.
-Spitting on (AKA assaulting) agents.
-Destroying government property.
-Tracking & stalking ICE agents
-Impeding federal operations.

"But but he was just a peaceful nurse protesting while practicing his rights to 2A!!!!"

I have a question for the thread, what do you consider to be the prize of your collection?

The 1897 Winchester that my grandfather (mom's dad) gifted to me in 2017.

That old shotgun is a later one, built in 1947 and bought new at the hardware store in my hometown by my great grandad Joe. He passed it to my grandad in 1977 when he had a stroke and couldn't use it anymore.

Grandad carried that shotgun on every hunt he ever went on, shot clays with it for years, and it was the first "big" gun I ever shot.

It's not a high grade gun, it's nothing fancy, but every nick in the stock, every scratch in the bluing is my family. Men that I look up to more than anyone in this world. I'll carry that old shotgun til I can't anymore, and I'll pass it with pride to the next generation.

Okay MRGT, I don't really know what the hell to say about this so I'll be blunt, Apparently Charles Reed "Trey" Knight III, Son of Charles Reed Knight II, Founder of Knight's Armament Company, has essentially gone batshit and started chimping out and attacking his neighbors while acting like a lunatic.

He was apparently straight up assaulting an immigrant, jumping up and down on chairs and resisting arrest.

The references to DUI's in the article track with his previous arrest history

This is a P320 barrel, it pivots on the rounded part of that dangly bit on the bottom when the slide goes back. It's called a tilting barrel and it absorbs some of the recoil of the bullet. Super common in pistol designs. Glocks, 1911s, pretty much any semi-auto pistol a normie could name uses it outside of Beretta 92s I think. I haven't shot/handled a P320 but his is cut for optics (and has an optic) and I think it has suppressor height sights which is a popular upgrade for pistols with optics so you can cowitness your dot and the physical sights.

Overall not an especially special pistol. You probably couldn't just go to a gunstore and buy one exactly like it but you could order it from their custom shop and it'd show up pretty quick. The custom shop just lets you play dressup with your pistol, basically. You can pick from whatever slightly-different-than-standard parts they offer, but it's not a truly custom gun where you're hiring a gunsmith to polish/balance/handfit everything.
Cool, never knew that. Thanks to other people who replied, too.

I enjoyed the callout to remembering the 2008 Max Payne movie making you an old man.

I'm sorry but having fucking wind chimes in a residential neighborhood where anyone else could ever hear them from their property makes you a legitimate target of self defense in my book.

A flintlock pistol kit I built with my dad a few years ago. He's a noguns with decent craft experience and I'm a notools zoomer but we put it together for my birthday. It cost maybe $400 altogether but I value it more than any of my really nice rifles.

Here's a flintlock pistol kit I put together with my dad while I was visiting. He's not a gun person at all so I appreciated him still working on it with me. It took way more fitting than I expected but it came out looking great. We rust browned the barrel.

I first saw this several days ago and immediately checked xitter to see if it was real, since after all the only piece of federal gun control in the past 8 years was from him. I didn't realize it was a "truth" at the time because I use neither xitter nor truth social, but all evidence points to it being a fake. Still, I have seen several accounts post it on instagram, including accounts that are not usually political. A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth can put its boots on and all that.
whoever made that fake was dumb as shit because we already have the guy on record saying similar things in his interview

Everyone knows the official ammo of Kiwi Farms Mega Rad Gun Thread is AUSTINS PISSIN' HOT LOADS
It only comes in 45 ACP, which is better than 44 mag because its 1 higher.

Anyone who has considered any KAC products knows he has been on that shit for a while because of the prices.

You'll have to pry my wind chimes out of my cold dead hands.

(Seriously though inverse square law no one can hear them but me)
Sign with a picture of a short barreled shotgun on it: "If you can hear my wind chimes, you're in range"

Ahahahahah this is almost as funny as the people the Asian gun dealer on X (the one who constantly brags about his white wife and height) all being outed as rapists and pedophiles (Hurricane Butterfly being the notable one)

Or the SOLGW founder being a retarded sack of shit who assaults his mother and sells stuff to Moms Demand and the similar orgs.

KAC needs to discount their overpriced shit
