Closest I could find was this GrabCAD model, no clue if anyone has tried it: https://grabcad.com/library/ar-15-sheet-metal-and-tube-steel-upper-receiver-1Do you have the schematics for the upper? I could probably figure it out but any information is helpful.
Well thank you, this is great! I'm sure I can figure out something. Sadly Flat Spot isn't in business anymore far as I know but there are some good sheet metal designs out there for lowers as well. Apparently no dust door or forward assist here but they might not be essential for most people.Closest I could find was this GrabCAD model, no clue if anyone has tried it: https://grabcad.com/library/ar-15-sheet-metal-and-tube-steel-upper-receiver-1
It uses a bent sheet metal sleeve on the outside, so the build is probably more finicky but could be done with 3d printed dies and a bench vise. Failing that, DetDisp's The Gatalog has the M16 TDP so it's possible to infer dimensions from the schematics.
guys! you can't use that upper!!!! It doesn't even have a forward assist!!!!!!!Well thank you, this is great! I'm sure I can figure out something. Hey, at least it's not another "9mm vs. .45" slapfight.guys! you can't use that upper!!!! It doesn't even have a forward assist!!!!!!!
Now sit back and watch the trashfire.

I can't really justify a slick side for the sole purpose of "it looks sleek", but idk, AKs and PTRs don't have em...Ever since Rittenhouse, Im sticking with FA uppers.
Why would an AK have a forward assist? lmaoI can't really justify a slick side for the sole purpose of "it looks sleek", but idk, AKs and PTRs don't have em...
idk, im half asleep rn, ignore that. Why would an AK have a forward assist? lmao
Some people are too weak for mortaring. Why would an AK have a forward assist? lmao

AK's have a reciprocating charging handle directly connected to the bolt and this provides enough leverage and strength to forcefully clear the action if required, which can certainly happen for all the same reasons like poor quality ammunition, magazine malfunction, et c. you can also use it to force the bolt into battery, which can happen with corroded or dusty/dirty ammunition that is otherwise safe to use.Why would an AK have a forward assist?
Now that I'm drinking some coffee and getting the gears turning, I'm thinking about the new scar non-reciprocating handle. These, unlike the G3 and AK, do have last shot bolt hold open I believe, but now are basically acting like a slick side AR. wonder if they will prove to need a fa, especially if militaries adopt the nrch.AK's have a reciprocating charging handle directly connected to the bolt and this provides enough leverage and strength to forcefully clear the action if required, which can certainly happen for all the same reasons like poor quality ammunition, magazine malfunction, et c. you can also use it to force the bolt into battery, which can happen with corroded or dusty/dirty ammunition that is otherwise safe to use.
the G3 (assuming you mean that by "PTR") has a fluted chamber to help reduce the chance of fouling sticking a cartridge in the chamber, and when locked, the cocking lever engages a camming surface, which provides a mechanical advantage to relieve tension on the bolt carrier and bolt, allowing the locking piece and rollers to retract. some G3 variations, like the HK33 have grooves in the side of the carrier to help it be moved forward into battery. some MP5's have this as well, as an outgrowth of SMG II project.
The non-reciprocating charging handle has a FA function. When out of battery, there's a claw on the charging handle slider piece that hooks into the bolt carrier and they become fixed to each other. When it returns to battery, there's a camming surface which unhooks the slider piece from the bolt carrier.wonder if they will prove to need a fa
I can't help but think of simpsons "silencer, louderner, and this is for shooting down police helicopters"Is the Lantac Dragon Muzzle Brake really loud like a dragon?
Loud is for crew-served. Anybody else is just posing.Loud is a down side, aside lulz.
Aside from a fucking Kriss Vector, this is like what just one guy will to the range on an average Saturday. Evidently it takes two Canadians to haul that much gear; or a whole convoy, which is what the .gov would have everyone believe.View attachment 2985737

Honestly that's more respectable than the shit Silvercorp USA brought out to Venezuela. Pistol braces and samurai Mempo masks.View attachment 2985737
