PSA has those krinks but i'm assuming you already made up your mind on those. i don't think there are any non-ghetto dracos. maybe there are WASR10s out for sale that have had some work done?

zastava?
 
Zastava is seeming like the winner. However, I am looking at the PSAs a little closer. I know it's a meme to shit on PSA, but I've honestly been really impressed by their offerings at the price point. I never expect to get gold at copper prices, but getting shiny copper is real nice. Anyone ever use the Zastava or the PSA krinks that can tell me about their longevity and durability? It's for fun and larpy range shooting, so not expecting "Dude, that thing won't even make it to ten million rounds."

I enjoy my m92, unfortunately due to ammo prices and personal preferences I don't shoot it much anymore. Two things I would point out about it. 1. It weighs a bit more than similar AK pattern shorties(iirc the receiver and barrel are thicker) 2. Zastavas don't take regular AKM style furniture, so your aftermarket options are slightly limited(still plenty of stuff, just don't expect to slap a tacticool chassis on it). Can't speak to its longevity as I have <1000 rounds through it at the moment.

I have the PSA AK-P in 7.62x39. It's a got a 10.5 barrel. Looks fantastic and my buddy and I gave it the redneck once over grunted a bit and declared it good. That said, I haven't shot it enough to declare it a winner or loser, sub 500 rounds into trash.
 
I've been thinking about getting a carry pistol, and a PSA Dagger seems like a decent quality, cheaply priced option. Seems like they have a good warranty and some of the configurations are quite sexy. As much as I'd nerd out over a Rock to shoot some 5.7, that gun is huge and carrying it looks downright painful.

Granted I had the luxury of choice with price being no concern, I don't think I would lean on a warranty and low price when my life is on the line.
However, that being said, if I compared it to a Glock 19 as its closest alternative and could dump ~300 rounds through it with little to no problems, I don't think it would be a bad option. The stippling and beavertail look great.
The trigger looks crap, though. Hate hinges.

Currently saving for whatever I end up deciding on, so if I need to save longer I will. You make a very valid point about a tool intended for protection, though my thinking with warranty concerns would be "could I reasonably train with my carry pistol and expect it will survive or be repaired no questions asked should something happen?" If not, and I would have to buy two pistols (one for training/abusing, one for carrying) and at that point, I should just buy a better pistol that can actually stand up to being used AND relied on.

if you're thinking of getting one then get one. i don't carry daily but if i do it's with a compact. i've gone through maybe like four thousand rounds between the full size and compact dagger i own and they've each had enough malfunctions to count on one hand. i'll shill them all day for their price. you've got options for style, upgrading parts is nice and easy, and they're not complicated. the triggers aren't good but they're not so bad that you think you're shooting a burning log. their front sights might need loctite. yours might end up perfect out the box, yours might need one little thing done before it runs fine. i've gone through their warranty before with an ARV; from what i dealt with they're pleasant and quick if anything is wrong. i love PSA shit but i also love my lynx 12, which required bethesda game tier modding to get working.
