deprioritize the civilian market in favor of government and LEO contract
kinda always been like that. most non-hunting offerings in the catalog have been developed for police/government use.
this loading of 38 special was developed for the FBI and Saint Louis police but is now only marketed at civilians. X38SPD is the product code. SPD = Saint louis PD. this loading is what most people call the "FBI load" so instead of overpaying for vintage ammo you can buy this.

Built another AR because that's just sorta what happens when you randomly cruise gun parts sites and bite on sale prices. It's pretty much another light/skinny rifle and between the KE KP15 lower ($60 when Brownells was clearing them out), the Faxon match series .223 Wylde middy pencil barrel (found it for $150) and Aero Atlas R-One handguard ($80!), it ended up weighing just a hair over five pounds with optic and accessories. It's probably going to end up being my new go-to run and gun toy and will likely get a silly rattlecan paint job because I have time to kill

have you guys seen this? apparently some gay man is making helical magazines for 9mm AK's
https://youtube.com/watch?v=sw9adg-uhTE
Pretty sure that's from the company that made the "Shocker" paintball style trigger PSR and Demo made vids about.
The guy who started it goes by Mr Snow and did kinda lame printing stuff, don't think there were actually any good vids or files.

Ugh I think I'm about to break and get a DDC Geisselle upper for my orphan AR lower... Fuuukkk

Also, selling an OLD AR (carbine length gas system good God) to fund a much nicer LPVO (Delta Stryker or Razor Gen 2e)

Russian shoots down a drone with his shotgun (not sure what type):

Back from vacation, I've finally had a chance to test out how my shorty H7 groups. H7K seems a more appropriate name now, K for Kurz. Only had a couple of boxes of Federal Gold Match 168gr SMK on hand but it produced reasonable results of around .8 MOA. Can definitely do better, need more time and ammo, maybe fiddle with the trigger more.

I just spent $275 of vacation money on this and a mount thanks to PSA's Memorial Day sales. At least my AR will have a nice optic on it!

I can only imagine the drone PTSD vets of this shit are going to have...
Hell, just from watching so many high-definition go-pro videos of troops from both sides being on the receiving end of FPV and dropping drones, that now whenever I hear a drone flying around at the park it makes me want to take cover. While the sound of incoming indirect fire & small arms in these videos also gives me the shakes & palpitations, I haven't heard those sounds IRL in 20 years. But now drones are everywhere & I seriously worry for those guys.
i'm probably not alone in being fascinated that the shotgun has returned to the battlefield as an infantry-level anti-drone weapon.
Along with that, I really wonder where designers are going to take shotguns with that specific purpose in mind. Or are they going to stick with essentially modernized trap & game guns?
It's like the grenade-shooting myth from World War 1 but it's actually being documented
Even so, I still hear spergs insist drones are near impossible to shoot down with a shotgun due to speed/size (i.e. FPV) or altitude (mavic & matrice).

They always seem to be the types who believe shit like WW2 rifles are still best rifles, that T-55s & IS-3 would still viable in Ukraine as anything but self-propelled artillery, that drone swarms would never be a thing, etc.
:story:

I can see drone shotguns branching off into various directions, from small under-barrel general purpose ones to more specialized longer barrel "defensive" variants. There's also room for purpose-designed ammunition, maybe something like tungsten bird shot, with mini shell variants allowing for higher ammo capacity for shorter under-barrel shotguns.

I wonder if something like Flight Control would be useful against drones where the wad and shot are specifically engineered to produce a tighter spread at longer ranges? Or alternating between Flight Control and standard like some shotgunners do with slugs and buckshot?

I can see a ciws chambered in 8 ga. Shooting steel bird shot for drone swarms. This is probably going to make underbarrel shotguns must issue kit. It's a shame ours are a joke.

I could’ve sworn I saw an underbarrel grenade launcher mod that is just a tube with a shotgun shell in it.

(I did)

Those are a thing, but the design makes it a pain in the ass to reload, extracting the shells seems to be difficult. I can see people carrying a few of those pre-loaded until a better alternative is found.

May be time to bring out all the crazy under-barrel shotgun designs like the Crye Six12 again. Whatever did happen to that thing?
