It does look like AIDS. Why not just put that buttstock on a regular 590A1 and call it a day?

Considering the issues people are still having with the ACRO (moisture ingress, most notably), I'm not sure anyone should rush purchasing one of these. I'm still waiting to see how the Trijicon RCR holds up. There's still not a lot of user experience with it out there. Every major enclosed pistol dot seems to experience the moisture ingress issue. Maybe Trijicon will be the company that finally gets it right.

I should probably look into people's experiences with Holosun's EPS line. The 509T had the moisture ingress problem.

Sad that Glock/Aimpoint are following the Sig path of proprietary optics.

I’ve been yearning for the HK VP9A1K but I know the holster selection especially X300 w/ optic is going to be dog shit. I’ll never forgive Glocksuckers and Siggers for what they’ve done to the firearm industry.

I've been very happy with my RCR so far. I'm glad I waited until they were available instead of settling for the ACRO. I like Aimpoint just fine, but I definitely prefer Trijicon and have never had an issue with any of their products. I'd love to get a second RCR eventually to replace the RMR on my FK Brno PSD since I like the ruggedness of enclosed optics better, and you don't have to remove the optic from the slide to change batteries on the RCR.

As soon as they start dropping colored models of the VP9A1K I will own one in Grey to match my other Grey HKs.

Or maybe I'll get an OD one, my OD HK45 is kinda lonely.

New American made pistol dot from PA. Lowest centerline in the industry. Cowitness with standard height sights. Enclosed. No tools needed for battery change. Acss reticle optional

I’ve experienced zero issues with my ACRO P2 and it’s resided on multiple firearms/probably been through about 5-6K rounds.
 
i've used a lot of micro red dots and the RMR has worked pretty well for both duty, carry, on pistols, SMGs, rifles, and once on a GPMG for funsies. the ACRO seems to work fine, although i've had more experience with the Delta Point and the Docter optic. a lot of these micro red dots trade ease of use/performance for size imho, for a lot of serious work the more normal sized red dots work better imho, and on pistols some zapped phosphorescent dots or tritium sights worked for me in most situations. with a PVS you aren't using sights anyway and just have an IR laser zero'd at 25 meters.

I can only hope that American made in this case also means "comes with decent quality control." If this is priced more on the $400 dollar end of the price scale, I may be more inclined to give this a try over an ACRO or an RMR with known pedigrees.

Tl;Dr buy a WASR10 or maybe a new Zastava or if you can find one, a WPB Jack or Fox with the OG chrome lined barrel and not the new nitrided abomination.

I have a psak-101 because MUH aesthetics and it was on sale for $999 or so.

Never expected PA of all people to make something in the USA...... They're usually the biggest China simps there are in regards to production while companies like Burris try and use the PH and Japan wherever possible.

Hopefully they'll do more stuff in the USA.

Now for new guns, let's see how Brownells keeps ruining the AR-18


The Gen 2 was just about perfect..... Now they're actively making it WORSE. UGH 😫

Looks like top dog for a short stroke AR type rifle remains the Sig MCX Gen 3 and maybe the CZ Bren Gen 3 (LMAO at spare parts availability)

I have the acss 507c. After training to use a rds I'd rather have a regular 2-6 moa dot, but I dont feel like the horseshoe is holding me back enough to buy a new one. I turned the outer ring off after a couple months. If you're practicing enough to be proficient with a dot you shouldn't need it.

Their insistence on shoving the horseshoe into magnified optics is stupid. Even a lot of acog guys prefer the traditional cross hair.

M77 mags were incredibly expensive for a while (still are but less so now that they're being imported again) so I bought some M14 mags and cut a slot in the back. That's all it is, just a relief at the front where it interfaces with the front trunnion. The rear locks up like it does in the M14. Just for shits and giggles I did it with a promag M14 50 rnd drum mag . The ones without anti-tilt followers work awful but the rest are fine.

That's cool looking man. I thought the M77s looked like a fun gun to fuck around with, but when I was looking the mags were ridiculous so I didn't even want to bother.

to be fair, it's usually more cost efficient to make certain products in the US if the margin is high enough or the export/import is risky. what differs in manufacturing is the balance between costs to offshore and import vs produce domestically, and the US typically has much higher labor and regulatory costs, but much lower supply chain and fixed costs. this doesn't even get into geopolitical or language/culture barriers or how corrupt the supply chain, finance chain, or political chain is in China.

Man I've recently discovered the new Burris XTR 3 and Pro line of scopes...... 3.3-18x and the 5-30x and their competitors in the ~$800 (on sale) to $1500 range..... Wow.

Makes my older Vortex Viper PST gen 2 3-15x look ancient

Yeah it's unusual what is more economical to make in the USA..
