I think the Daewoo rep said they are aiming for $1200. Probably could find them for $1k on a sale. Honestly not terrible considering the niche. I regret passing one up on Armslist ages ago

Counterpoint: ammo prices. The days of abundant, cheap imported 7.62x39 are long gone.

I just told my friend to just offload his stack of 5.45 that he got an insane deal on from an estate sale, as he doesn't even have a rifle for it.

I'm sure he could just sell a little bit of it to get a decent 5.45 rifle for what is left, but the problem is that its pretty much irreplaceable mil-spec 5.45 surplus in the spam cans, that is now currently unobtanium due to the restriction of Russian imports, and the fact that the other "Russians" who make it in bulk are currently using it in a hot war against the real Russians.

I probably wouldn't want to get a whole rifle just to shoot a cartridge that I probably won't get anymore of. He should just sell it to some slavaboo and buy a bunch of whatever he shoots most. I never sell anything but I've thought of doing similar things with some ammo I own. Even though I do have a gun to shoot them, I just hardly ever do. I need to shoot my AK more. Definitely need to zero it again after the front sight post leg snapped. God I hate how the AK sights adjust so much.
 
Posting this in case anyone finds it interesting or has more information.

I have a Finnish 1941 VKT M91 Mosin, SA Marked, Retooled for D166 rounds. CAI ST ALB VT Import stamp
From what I can gather from esoteric ancient gun forums and HTML webpages, it's a captured Russian rifle because they crossed out the distances on the elevations because Russia and Finland used different distance measurements. It also has other markings in obscure places, some I have yet to find catalogued online. I know Mosin markings are a rabbithole akin to reading tea leaves, but I think it's pretty cool. Let me know if you want pics of the other markings on the gun.

Story is my grandfather shipped it home from WW2. Pics below.
The petina/scarring of the stock lends me to believe it saw combat, but I am unsure.

At this point 5.45 is just for autists (like me.) ONLY if you're an absolute weirdo who has to have it for no other reason than obsession is it "worth it."

Everyone else, makes no sense. I'm always coming to hope something changes, but whatever.
 
So today I finally got around to ordering a S&W 5906 - I've been sitting on the fence for a while and found one at what felt like a decent price so I went ahead and pulled the trigger. Should be here by Friday, so will get some trigger time this weekend.

Related - does anyone know of a decent maker of (non-leather) IWB holsters for the 5900 pistols? So far, I've only found options at AlienGear and StealthGear USA. I like my other AlienGear holster, but was just checking to see if anyone knew of options I might be missing by just googling.
