I'd expect any Rossi dealer would be able to order one, and wouldn't take long to show up. Seems like they're not on back-order, just something not kept in stock.

When I was looking for one of their .22 Gallery pump-actions, I couldn't find one wearing wood furniture in-stock anywhere; and if they had any it was with synthetic furniture. Hell, most of the dealers I called had no idea Rossi even made the .22 Gallery, much less one with a wood stock. No way was I going to deal with GunBroker, so just waiting a little while for one to be shipped from Rossi (through a big-box store) was the way to go.

Edit: I went and looked in the usual places, and it looks like they've pulled the listings. But I'd bet there are still some floating around, just have to make a lot of phone calls & emails.

My son uses them, he seems satisfied.
The finish may be questionable as he told me that tiny rust patches developed on them.
But he has really acidic sweat and doesn't always wipe down and oil his stuff every night.

Evidently it didn't work/was vaporware, but the concept would be tits as an autoloader if it functioned.
 
So I picked up a 32acp cal wheel for my nagant revolver, I picked it up more just to have the option as opposed to really doing too much with it.

theres a bunch of stories of people shooting 32's of varying types like H&R and S&W from the original cylinder with varying success. Which is kinda pointless seeing how the 38r is cheaper than both from what I've seen.

FWIW I have the 9 rounders for the regular 43 and they feed reliably. Spring is VERY stiff - to the point they’re more like 8 rounders.

The Rumor is that Magpul bought the design and did what Magpul does when it come up with a cool design (PDR/FMG9), that is stick it in a filing cabinet and forget about it. Then again they finally put the plan into motion to make the FMG9 a decade and change after its reveal but that has been a multi year saga and they're still not shipping preorders.

I was made aware of an interesting Ukrainian straight pull(as there is no gas system, the charging handle is used to cycle the action) integrally suppressed rifle The Hopak/Gopak-61 (I have seen it spelled both ways)
It is a Mutilated AKM with a PKM buttstock for some reason.

Warrior Poet Society/John Lovell, who is mentioned in the above posts responded saying that they have stopped all sales and promotion of "these" plates. (unclear if they mean Shotstop Level IV's or all Shotstop plates)

It apparently has pretty good performance. My confusion is that if they want to field test the rifle they might as well field test the ammo.

That said, I could see why they would want 5.56. It's more available, lighter, and frankly, 6.8 really isn't needed right now. There was all this paranoia over near-peer body armor and general proliferation that really hasn't borne out. Russian bodyarmor and procurement is a joke. There's not much information on PLA bodyarmor but I don't think that's a strict priority right now. And I doubt HAMAS has much armor.

It isn't really a Spear. SIG just calls the civilian MCX that now for marketing purposes. This was a custom program designed around 5.56.

The requirement that led to 6.8 was the ability to penetrate level IV armor at 600m. It's totally unrealistic and produces a rifle with untenable recoil. Soldiers can't shoot accurately at 200m with 5.56 currently.

Shotstop also had some controversy with their plates having foam edge liners meaning the plates were smaller then they appear. As well as a deal with GBRS group (who are also extremely cringey) fall through under vague circumstances.

6.8's whole advantage is it's ability to penetrate body armor, which Hamas does not have. Combined with the Army stating they aren't completely turning away from 5.56 anyway so this makes since for the situation. A small security team facing an unarmored threat.

Has anyone seen the whole ARA situation?
