Hey, guys look what I found! They're tacticool redesigns for early 20th century pistols and SMGs.

I'm actually partial to the Mauser and combat kaiser myself.

Man I wish Tapco was still around they made a really cool orange faux bakelite magazine and they were the only third party to make 30 round mini-14 mags at a reasonable price.
Whatever happened to them? Pretty much everyone had an SKS or a Mini-14 and Tapco was one of the few people making aftermarket for them at the time. I got my Dad a shit ton of their Mini-14 mags as stocking stuffers around I think 2011?

Edit: Oh. Right. Remington was their parent company...

Yup they got bought out and when Remington went belly up for the umpteenth time they took them along for the ride. They made a bevy of mounting options for things that either didn't have them such as the SKS and FAL or were ridiculously expensive like the claw mounts for a HK91 and they made a pretty decent AK trigger one of the saving graces of getting something brought in by Century back in the day.

Ordered a CZ P-10F Competition for shits and giggles and because the price was right. Do I need another oversized 9mm pistol? Probably not, but this hasn't been about needs for quite some time and at least this will take the mags I already have for my P-09.

I would totally own a modern C96 Broomhandle. Or better yet, a modern Mauser 06/08 in modern steel with it's flapper locked action in 10mm Auto. That would fucking rock.

If that's Lugerman he's semi local to me seen his work in person and dropped by. Dudes really a master craftsman and nice.

Something just occurred to me. Turns out my first experience with red dot sights was actually much farther back than I thought. Did any of you all play with Worlds of Wonder Lazer Tag when you were kids? I remember their pistols had like a mock red dot sight built in. At the time I of course had never seen anything like it. I wanted one for myself but since I was coming several years too late to this party I don't think they were carried in stores anymore. Plus I think there was no way in hell my parents were going to pay like $50 or whatever they cost back then.

Next thing I'll type on a bit is holsters. The vast majority of my holsters are kydex. It's what I prefer and definitely what I use the most these days. Still, when you're a boomer faggot like myself and you decide to run a boomer faggot pistol like the 1911, you may feel compelled to spring for the boomer faggot leather carry options. I treated myself to horsey and shark skin stuff because I've been a good boy lately.

Finally, and forgive me if we've talked about this previously, but what are your thoughts on 6mm MAX? As a guy that jumped on the 6 ARC train I can see the appeal. I like that it's able to use standard AR bolts and the magazines are easy enough to find and have reasonable geometry. I also like that one can get ~2750 fps at the muzzle for an 18" barrel running 90gr projectiles. I've read that it's a close performer to 6 ARC out to about 1000m, but I'm skeptical of that. I'll watch it and see if goes anywhere but unless it starts to gain traction similar to the ARC stuff it'll probably die a quiet death. As I've stated before, I know for a fact that 5.56 kills just fine. I do like the idea of being able to reach out a bit farther than it without issue (say, 600m) and hitting people with a heavier projectile is also something I like the idea of.

I actually prefer leather rigs to kydex. My favorite holster is a Nightingale Leather Sandpiper shoulder holster for my Dan Wesson Specialist 1911. It's so comfortable. I eventually plan to get a second one for my Staccato P, but for now I'm carrying it in a Tucker Deep Carry 3 which is a hybrid kydex/leather holster that is convertible from OWB to IWB by swapping out the belt loops. The rear panel of the holster and magazine carrier is leather and the holster/mag carrier body itself is kydex lined on the inside with leather to protect the pistol finish and provide a smooth draw. I like it, but I wish they had added kydex sandwiched inside the leather of the rear panel to add rigidity since the leather can bunch up and slide on the belt. I found some different belt loops for it that work much better than the ones that came with it and make things stay put, but it would have been better if there had been some kydex added. But that's my only gripe, otherwise I like it.
