Wasn't Kel-Tec the first to have a dual tube mag shotgun with the KSG? S&W borrowed the design just like with the FPC. I wouldn't say they innovated anything recently.
There was the Neostead 2000 which predates the KSG by a decade or so. The tubes on that are on the top.
The crack is the best part, otherwise it would just be another boring utilitarian mag-fed shotgun if they approached it sober. Also if you want even more tubes, get the Tavor shotgun.

I'll give S&W that, their polymer handguns are a lot more reliable and in general they do have a better reputation for quality. Don't know about the shotgun, never tried it.

I've literally heard nothing wrong with their 1911 lineup other than the price tag. Which is impressive. And yeah, they do neat shit like scandium frames. They probably don't sell great, they're expensive, but hey, they offer it.
I've never seen the scandium 1911 in the wild I have though their .44 and it's as light as you'd expect. That aside their 1911's from my experience are real honeys on par with your upper-mid tier out of the box brands like Dan Wesson or Kimber and yeah I know it's not the Kimber of old but they still make an aight 45.
