found a pretty good deal on CDNN: https://www.cdnnsports.com/firearms/handguns/smith-wesson-sd9-2-0-9mm-two-tone.html
these S&W pistols are well made, albeit cost-reduced. they are functionally a Glock clone and while an LEO trade in Glock might be available similarly, i figure some might like the included Crimson Trace laser and it'll take the BattleTorch light, which was an OEM solution as part of a kit S&W sold together (https://tacticon.com/product/battletorch-v1-tactical-pistol-light/). not the best light but for a little home defender there's a lot worse out there.
edit: for clarity, the SD9, SW9, SD9VE magazines all interchange for their respective calibers, only the baseplate differs slightly. the trigger is very meh, but can be easily improved with an aftermarket kit.
CDNN also has Ruger EC9S (with the manual safety) for sale for $250, which is a pretty good price: https://www.cdnnsports.com/firearms/handguns/rugerr-ec9stm-9mm-safety-hogue-grip.html
catch there is the safety sort of defeats the "carry" nature of it for some people and the pistol itself is (imho) inferior to the LCP. but it'll eat most 9mm ball ammo including cheap stuff. doesn't fair as well with some JHP though.
edit2: PSA daily deal: https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa...hex-m-lok-moe-ept-rifle-w-mbus-sight-set.html
$529 for a complete rifle with 1/7 barrel, mid length, magpul furniture, sights, and free shipping.
