these S&W pistols are well made, albeit cost-reduced. they are functionally a Glock clone and while an LEO trade in Glock might be available similarly, i figure some might like the included Crimson Trace laser and it'll take the BattleTorch light, which was an OEM solution as part of a kit S&W sold together (https://tacticon.com/product/battletorch-v1-tactical-pistol-light/). not the best light but for a little home defender there's a lot worse out there.

edit: for clarity, the SD9, SW9, SD9VE magazines all interchange for their respective calibers, only the baseplate differs slightly. the trigger is very meh, but can be easily improved with an aftermarket kit.

catch there is the safety sort of defeats the "carry" nature of it for some people and the pistol itself is (imho) inferior to the LCP. but it'll eat most 9mm ball ammo including cheap stuff. doesn't fair as well with some JHP though.

Writing an essay about a 24 year old decision made when S&W was under BRI'ISH management is retarded. Got shit all over Ruger because Bill Ruger was a giga fudd. The AWB has just happened and lawsuits against gun makers were seen as legitimate.

Fun fact, semi automatic handguns basically peaked in the 1980s and everything since then is a riff on an existing design/action. Deal with it.

The post I made was a joke aimed at just making a price point you have within your means and budget and sticking to that while still getting something robust because there will always be some dude that goes "oh you bought that? Bro for just (x) more you could have gotten (y)" or "yeah buy this used police trade instead that has 10k rounds through it because it costs what your suggesting new" ect.

Some guys literally have 180 dollars flat no negotiation and feel they need to be armed with a new gun that hasnt been abused and is reliable and Hi-Point fills that niche
Shit some guys have 60 dollars flat and feel the same way so they buy a large pizza and a diet bepis to trade for one from a friend

Should have clarified. It'll have soft armor. Plates if I feel spicy. I was just asking whether the carrier itself was worth it. Or if there is an even more low profile one out there.

I'm partial to the Mayflower LPAAC/LPAC, it's somewhat low profile and works well with plates. If you can't procure the original Velocity Systems soft armor inserts for it, there are a few US companies that make compatible armor. It's not the slimmest armor carrier but I can wear mine under a hoodie and it doesn't stick out too much. For plates if you're just worried about urban types with shit tier rifles, maybe a set of Hesco L211? I've got the L210 plates in mine and a Ferro Roll 1 hanging from the back for medical.

Now that I know 5.56 is legal in FL I might take my 15 on my next whitetail hunt. My aim has gotten a lot better since I started small game hunting. Squirrels are not easy to hit in the head with 22LR....
 
As a big Smith & Wesson wheel gun fan, I will only own vintage S&Ws. Especially N Frames. I've owned three vintage N Frames in my life: currently own a Model 57 from 1968-1969 with a 6" barrel, and previously owned a Model 57 from around the same time period with an 8 3/8" barrel and a Model 28 from 1955 with 4" barrel. Pinned and recessed N Frames is where it's at. Pre-70s S&Ws are some of the finest revolvers you can find. I might consider owning some 80s stainless Smiths, but I prefer old blued Smiths.

I'm going to make some folks salty here, but I personally hate GLOCKs. Don't really like striker fired pistols in general. Right now I carry either a Staccato P (suck it poors) or Dan Wesson Specialist. But I'm also a big H&K fan (love my Mark 23 and hoping to get a SilencerCo Osprey for it this year) and I like alloy framed SIGs OK. I've owned and shot a lot of GLOCKs and carried them for work, and I just don't like them. I have to work a lot harder to shoot a GLOCK well than I do almost any other pistol. They don't fit my hand well. When I go to aim a GLOCK naturally the front sight always ends up higher than the rear, so I have to cock my hands forward/down to align the sights. I don't have to do that with a 1911, H&K, SIG, Beretta, CZ, or S&W auto. I know they're rugged and reliable pistols, they're just not for me. Plenty of other rugged and reliable pistols out there that I don't have to fight with to shoot well.

All my other polymer guns are HK's (well, except for an FNX 45 I just got for a can host... what great gun for the price, imho)

Hot take: The most underrated HK handgun is the P2000. I love mine, which is an LEM version. Would be nice if HK would do something for the 13rnd Compact/P2k mags like they did for the P30/VP mags, which are directly derrived from the Compact magazines. Be nice if it carried 15 like the G19 which is the exact same size.

the magazine body is identical. other than the floorplate and grip length, you can freely swap magazines between the USP-C, P2000, P30, and VP9. there is some issues in regards to the VP9SK and P30SK fitment and the spring but you can use the later magazine spring from the P30/VP9 instead of the P2000.

also, there is the OEM solution is a spacer for the magazine to take up the additional space to prevent over-insertion. to get 15 rounds in a 9mm P2000, use a VP9 magazine and then a spacer (https://x-grips.com/hk/p2000-p30/)

The 15rn mag bodies are longer. I know this because I own both. What I want is +2 extra rounds in the 13rnd body, just like HK got the memo and figured out how to stuff 2 more into the 15rn mag bodies with a slightly different floor plate and follower.

I have a handful of the X-grip adaptors, but I would rather have a true flush fit solution with the 13rn mag bodies.

I was shit talking the Cobra, I even said the Hi-Point is for the discerning nigger - such a nigger knows to pass up Shitterday Night Special in .380 because Hi-Point can't be destroyed with regular use. Cleaning it, on the other hand...clearly not what they designed it for.

As a friend once told me, you can tie a Hi-Point to a rope and still defend yourself if needed. Hi-Point definitely fills a slot in the gun market and they do it in a way that is cheap and pretty fucking reliable. It's better than no gun by a long shot, though people make a good point - if you can afford a better gun, you should probably get a better gun. "Better" is even subjective so in some cases the Hi-Point may be the best gun you can lay hands on.

ah, i was misunderstanding you then. the only solution i worked out was using the P2000 baseplate on a 12 round vp9SK/p30sk magazine to get 2 more rounds in. there is enough space for "half" another 9mm, but that's all without lengthening the magazine body slightly.

What shotgun should I buy this year for dove hunting and why shouldn't it be a spas 12? (I'm mainly joking as I won't have enough funds for one in time for the season, though I would love this) I mainly use a remington model 11 12ga with the kurt kobain compensator and it's great, but I just want to try something new this year. My basic bitch option is a super nova to finally get one, I'm open to meme or weird suggestions like a cobray terminator (though I won't spend the 1k retards want for them)

It’s a hammer fired pistol, the hammer is just mounted upside down on the top strap.
