So a month ago, New York City made a rule change to allow non-residents to apply for an NYC pistol permit, which lets you carry throughout the entirety of New York. The 18 hour training is now complete and I need another couple of weeks to get the paperwork together.

Okay. I think I figured out how to do that. Apolgies, I am a complete boomer when it comes to tech. Now then, hopefully you can enjoy the Obregon Hermanos 1916 top break in all its glory without clicking view attachment.

My form was approved for the PP bizon SBR (still waiting for the parts to ship from stincusa tho), I ordered the stock and optic. My AR9 build now begins its planning phase. 20030711200-803dc18804-k.jpg
I am thinking of something like this. Colt mags are a must, debating on HK sights but I think I will be using an aimpoint comp m2 unless I find another dot i like. Need a light suggestion I'm not too familiar with surefires or lights in general other than to avoid olights. I want a binary for funsies, if you kiwis have any suggestions for the lower I was mainly looking at this CMMG radial delayed blow back lower but not set in stone. I would prefer to completely build the upper myself. So any suggestions there would be greatly appreciated as-well. I have a NFA AR9 that takes MP5 mags but it kinda sucks ass as the tolerances for the magwell is shit. I had to add tape to every mag I own real german or otherwise. It was a pretty well known problem and NFA might fix it if I send it in but I won't.

I ended up building something similar off of the CMMG radial system, if you're wanting to fully build out the upper yourself I would say go for it but the tolerances between where the mag will sit relative to the upper might walk a bit more than you might expect. Tying into that I would actually recommend a basic AR style lower along with a colt magwell conversion, you'll have to shave down and possibly modify the feed ramp but it will mean you won't have to deal with the longer Colt AR-9 style bolt catch which can cause some issues with how long it tends to be. You will probably have to shave down the top of the magazine release as well to make it so it feeds properly, at least on mine I had to shave it down to fit the specific lower it was in so that it wouldn't interfere with the bolt and it wouldn't jam the rounds either into the feed ramp or low enough that it kicked the rounds up while feeding and jammed the JHPs into the top of the chamber locking the gun up.

CMMG isn't joking too much when they don't guarantee that their barrel kits will be drop in, if you've got the cash and are okay not building I would probably recommend just buying one of their pre assembled guns, maybe their dedicated lowers would work better but there might be some unintended slop between their pin locations for the upper and the upper you end up going with so you might have to shave the mag release down a little anyways.

I love mine once I managed to do the small amount of hand fitting required to get it working, although it is a little picky about JHPs so I can't use some of the more open mouthed 147gr rounds, all the FMJs I've tried have worked fine though. Who knows maybe your build will have the tolerances stacking in a way that makes it fit together easier, just go slow if you have to trim it up and have a backup mag catch just in case, ideally something with a little extra slop in the lower's mag catch hole.

This is why I bought a Cx4 Storm.

I run a cmmg radial delayed blow back. You need their barrel and bolt, and their Colt mag lower for their upper. Otherwise you have to have their modification kit for other Colt mag lowers that changes the magazine height and you will have to remove the ejector. The Colt lower is also mag sensitive. I have the Metalform kit and use those mags.

I also just run a regular lower and Endomags which eliminates the need for a special lower, and the Endomags run great. Keep in mine you would again use the Endomags for the CMMG RDB upper.

Instead of a binary trigger, get a CNC version of the Hoffman Tactical Super Safety. Just don’t tell anyone you own it, and don’t post videos online of it.

I'm considering buying ammo online for the first time. Always been a buy it at a shop with cash guy. I gotta say, looking at it, shipping is a bitch. I was looking on luckygunner.com for 7.62x39mm and 38 special btw. You basically have to buy in bulk or get raped, or else it's better to buy in person it seems if you just want a box or two. If there are ways to get free shipping on different sites I'm all ears.

Edit nvm Midway is way cheaper on shipping lol

They have to ship by ground which adds to shipping costs. Unless you're getting a box or two of unobtanium like 6.5 Grendel or .44-40, it's best to buy in bulk packs of hundreds.

SG ammo has free shipping over $200 I believe. Other sites do the same

Yeah it seems like it just looking around. There is a supply of high quality Belom 7.62x39mm ammo in a 480 pack that probably would be worth it, but at the same time I could buy a 45acp hi point carbine or something in that range for the same price that's already on my wishlist.

Thank you, that's helpful!

There is a site called ammoseek, but the cheapest ones on there usually don’t include shipping.
