its fine for infinite .44 special and light recoil magnums.

Taking advice from this thread, and now that my car has had major issues I've been forced to address, I think now I want to save up for a M&P 2.0 in 40 cal instead of the SD40 2.0, since I am going to be in the hole for a while. Buy a nice gun instead of a cheap one.

Love the look, heard great things about the coating, and the striker system, while similar to Glock, is distinct enough to not be a total clone. Also like the grip texture from what I've held of them. 15 rounds in 40 too, which is banging.

I'm about to pick up an LE trade in USP in fotay.

$600 for a lightly used example of the best gun to buy in .40 S&W is a great deal, imho.

Ever since I saw one playing very heavily modded Fallout NV, one of my absurd bucketlist guns is a C96 Mauser in .357 mag or .44 mag, the worst thing of all is that I don't see why it wouldn't work.

I put it on par on the heresy (and hot) scale as Lugerman's 10mm baby Lugers.

Agreed 100%. Not any sort of requirement with their new factory fire control parts but with Apex Tactical parts they're even better.

I didn't necessarily mean it as a slight, so much as the M&P is just that much better than anything that Ruger, Remington, or anyone else who is an American brand could muster without slapping their name on an import from Eastern Europe instead (I'm looking at you, Springfield Armory).

With that being said, the Ruger SR9 isn't "terrible" so much as "not chosen" over most of its much more popular choice of the M&P, which Smith and Wesson was wise to get them adopted by several police agencies, which no other "American" striker gun has even attempted, iirc.

As far as the XDerp series of pistols is concerned, I would rather own a version that is more honest and does not have "Springfield Armory" anywhere on the gun.

feels like ruger gave up on the police market when glock replaced revolvers. they were BIG in the LE world in the 70s-late 90s. their service-six was used by agencies nationwide from the FBI to the department of defense.

IIRC their last big push for LE contracts was with the GP100.

imho "American" firearms that are quite good are S&W 3rd and 4th gen automatics, the AR and derivatives, and various pump shotguns, lever action rifles, and revolvers of all kinds. few countries can hit the price/performance ratios of these weapons without massive subsidies for state customers rather than general consumption.

I didn't like my M&P enough to keep it, but I'm never going to get rid of the NIB 5946 found at a local store around '20. It actually has a really nice DAO trigger.

I need to finger fuck a USP, never have because the USP has always been out of my price range. Do tell though, why is the USP the best 40?

Smith has always been good at getting police contracts, because their shit works. In Asia they're STILL getting police contracts for REVOLVERS. Korea especially loves their police wheelguns, they have stainless ones.

I'll even add a few semi auto shotguns in there, the Mossberg 940 is just fine for under $1k and the Remington SX series is fine.
