this talk about CZ only furthers the month long compulsion i've been having to hock the daggers i slapped together and get a P-01. i crave metal frames and DA/SA. this will be done sooner or later depending on whether or not i keep bullshitting with my MP5; sending bill springfield my trigger pack and getting a larue QD mount for a recently acquired HS503CU.
a couple weeks back i was talking about the timney trigger for MP5s and i think even mr. basso mentioned interest in it. i almost caved in and got one today but i swayed out after a couple videos on youtube mentioning it not being great with the way it resets as well as my own trepidations with aftermarket fuckery on what's already a century clone. i'm never exactly lucky when playing around with parts like that. i'll just send the pack my AP5 came with to the trigger lord instead.
i love the red dot as well. comes out very clear with my bad astigmatism eyes, it's lightweight, and the mounts it come with exist. if i ever get real silly a magnifier might go behind it. i put those cordura covers on the dot and protac 2 light mounted on the gun to keep them from getting too dinged up as well.

the rearsenal work of the Beretta BM59E was done by FMAP for the Argentinian Navy when they purchased a several destroyers from the USN. new barrels, modifications for grenade launchers, new wood and bedding, et c. some of these were imported by Intrac out of Knoxville around the time the Korean M1's were being imported (1980's) since it was a "sporting" configuration, but that stopped from lack of interest.

Swivel breach flintlocks and wheel locks are still available as kits. A lot of labor goes into them so selling them complete is cost ineffective so they pass the labor onto you to make it affordable.

I'd be getting it as a gift and doing the cleaning (but not re-barrel) myself. I just want to triple check because it's a C&R I can still get it and gift it. I know sometimes there can be little weird loop holes. I know clearly I can buy and own it in my state, and whom I'm gifting can legally own weapons but, being C&R with the intent of gifting.

I have one i converted with a chamer instert. It works but rebarreling is better. Theres a guy on gunbroker who sell them for 200$ and will install the barrel for 200 more. The problem is the magazines. X39 will feed out of a x45 mag, but its very finicky. You have to keep the base of the cartridge pressed up against the rear of the mag. If thr cartridges move forward at all, it jams. Theres some 3d printed inserts that cam fix it allegedly but I've never used them.

Ive decided that milsurp just isnt fun anymore. Its way more fun to buy 556 and shoot my AR vs buying some oldshitrod that i shoot once a year and sits in my safe for the rest of the time. Just buy ammo for your favorite gun and shoot it.
 
Stinger 9 by Jan Lucansky (guy who designed the CZ Scorpion and Laugo Alien). It's a Scorpion with an aluminum upper, two charging handles and some kind of counterweight recoil mitigation system

Description of the system from a Recoil article

"the Stinger 9 incorporates a simple but effective means to reduce recoil that relies on a floating tungsten mass, incorporated into the bolt, which the designer has named Divided Matter. It works by essentially reducing the bolt’s weight at the time the shooter feels it — specifically at the end of its travel when the bolt slams into the rear of the receiver.

On firing, the mass is in its forward position, tight against the front of the bolt and riding in an oversized slot. During recoil, as the bolt hits the receiver and stops, the floating chunk of tungsten continues traveling rearward, and just as it’s about to hit the rear of its slot in the bolt, the bolt bounces forward, propelled by the recoil spring.

As the rearward-traveling tungsten mass hits the forward-traveling bolt, the two pause for a couple of milliseconds before charging forward to pick up and chamber the next round. This has the effect of decoupling the counterweight from the bolt, in effect reducing its mass when you most notice it and spreading out the recoil impulse over a longer timeframe."

I’ve waited months but finally it’s just 24 hours until I can shoot with a suppressor. I fucked up my washer timing but a nice old white man fixed them for me for free. God bless White America.

I use Precision Armament Accu-Washers for timing muzzle devices. Really simple and quick to use. A pack is more expensive than regular shims, but I typically get several muzzle devices installed with a single pack.

Forward Controls Design released a fancy timing washer around a year ago called the Nautilus Variable Timing System that looked interesting, but not as financially sensible as the Accu-Washers. It disappeared from FCD's website at some point, so either there was issues with the design, or problems getting it manufactured. I'm not sure.

Shooting chalk rounds mainly.

Legally all men 17-45 are part of the "unorganized militia of the united states" per the militia act of 1903 so having a 40 would ensure you could use military 40mm stockpiles in some sort of red dawn total war senario, however unlikely that is.

but mainly because its cool as fuck
 
Had an issue with my Henry Big Boy in .357. Magazine tube started to fail on me, wouldn't reliably feed the last round and the follower would stick if I depressed it by hand. Emailed Henry and 3 days later I was informed a new magazine tube assembly was en route to me at no charge. The stock was loose at the tang but I was able to fill the void by cutting two shims from a soda can and a thin strip of cardboard. Now it's rock solid. Not what I expected to deal with for a rifle I spent over a grand on (Case hardened steel receiver) but I'm happy Henry is making good on their customer service, and the stock repair was easy to do.

for any old buffers i replace them with urethane spacers of an appropriate size. works for everything i've ever had to do it for that wasn't something weirdly shaped like in my P9S, where i bought a dozen spares and keep them vacuum packed and inside a little mylar baggie.

as someone with an old Colt M203 (1980's era before the small pony when it was still a big chonker on the side) the practical uses, even for me are nonexistent. chalk rounds, smoke, and beehive stuff basically or sub caliber inserts for shotgun shells i guess or flares. i have a variety of 40mm ammunition and other than very limited demo shows sometimes it's a pain to deal with. because the fuze is integrated with the grenade (M433, et c) i have to store it in an approved magazine and maintain an FXP with the BATFE (as well as a permit from the state). separable explosives (example, a binary explosive) generally do not need this unless your state requires it and typically fire control ordinances apply same like black powder or kerosene or whatever.
