Laslty, I've relatively recently read somewhere that there was at least one instance of the usage of a "Death Machine" style backpack ammunition feed system among SF during the Invasion of Panama. Nobody would happen to have a photo would they?

Also I might have just imagined this but I swear that I once saw a photo from a book showing an early SR-25 with a 28in barrel and a massive 13'' reflex suppressor. Does anyone know what I'm referencing it, can't find a photo no matter what keywords I use

It's pretty rough looking, but if it's functional it's pretty cool. Something like that from a reputable manufacturer with their level of reliability and polish would be a great range toy.

The Indonesians, for unclear reasons, made a straightwall .30 cartridge probably based on a 5.56 case, 7.62x45mm PINDAD
1739634323537.png
Why does this exist? Technically there's already a 7.62x45mm, the Cezch's came up with it before adopting 7.62x39mm

A milsurp on my eternal wishlist, ngl. This Pindad cartridge seems like some sort of PDW bullshit, though I use PDW loosely, I don't know its load data and how it actually runs.

Work bonus and tax refund hit so took a tiny bit out to order myself a Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol. I absolutely don't need an 18" tactical semiauto shotgun but "need" left the building as far as gun purchases go a long time ago.
Did the same exact thing last Friday, fellow spaghetti shooter. Already ordered a GG&G charging handle to replace the factory one

Alright boys, anyone buy kkm barrels that are semi drop? Will they actually fit? I really dont want to have to go to a gunsmith.
KKM has drop-in barrels that might require minor filing for Glock and M&P, however their 1911 match barrels all require fitting. generally if you are using a factory slide and recoil assembly it should drop-in without much issue.

This is supposedly an Indonesian super low bore axis pistol, I have searched through every article regarding Indonesian Arms Expo's on TFB's archive, I can find nothing. I have only this picture. If anyone can give me a name or better yet a view of the internals that would be great
Looks like nothing more than a mockup. I dont see how that trigger would even function with those dimensions.

Search for Komodo Armament P1-95. I can't access the company's own website and haven't found a manual. Assuming it's not vaporware, I'd really like to know how the action is designed. Gas-delayed blowback maybe?

Was gonna go with one of their 92 barrels.

for a Beretta 92 series, you will need to fit the rails where the barrel will slide in the frame. even on OEM barrel replacements, they are "semi-drop-in" barrels. a separate issue is the locking block and barrels fitment - these are intended to be fit together and poor fitment between the barrel and locking block can result in cycling failures or even cracking/breakage of the locking block. the locking block is the piece that is modified to fit the barrel, not the other way around. you can also get a new locking block and fit from that with jeweler files paying special mind to the "legs" of the locking block where it interacts with the frame.

typically, if the locking block fits the barrel with no slop and no "sticking" of movement, and there isn't any undue wear or damage, then the locking block can be reused and fitting the barrel's rails is the only thing needed for semi-drop-in aftermarket barrels. you will also want to ensure slide to barrel fit and that it properly locks up without binding - allowing the locking block to raise and lower as expected when the slide is moving.

Heh - I've held off on gun-specific accessories/modifications so far since I want to shoot it before I start making changes, but did order a sling, light+mount, a red dot and a shitload of shotgun cards.

I took this picture while i was out looking for crow and squirrel. Thought it came out well.
Trying some federal #6 loads was a pain to find any shot locally larger than #8 and #7 1/2 which work well on close game but won't get through the skin on longer shots.

#6 shot has been my go to 20GA small game round. I've had good luck at most Walmarts. Check out Cabela's online, they tend to have the same prices as Walmart and you can get it in bulk shipped. Even during the Summer of Love I was able to get 2 cases shipped to me for 25cpr.

for some reason my local walmart has only stocked 7 1/2 and 8 for the last year. just piles of the stuff. they have some premium fancy loads but i don't need to pay the high tech tax for what im doing.

I bought a new spec locking block (a stainless one with the relief cuts) and an NOS stainless .40 cal barrel, and it more or less all just dropped into a 96G Centurion slide. I don't like the 92 in fotay, so I don't shoot it much, but it ran a few hundred rounds through it without issue. I bought all the parts NOS directly from Beretta's web store about 10 ish or so years ago and then assembled them onto a 96FS Centurion beater that I got for around $400 or so. The 96G Centurion slide was even drilled for the front tritium vial, too.

These were all of course Beretta factory parts, so ymmv, of course.
