I'm just so jaded that it doesn't surprise me anymore. People will panic buy over absolutely anything anymore, politics-related or not.
Yeah during the Obama administration people were freaking the fuck out and begging gun stores to sell them "anything" as far as ARs go even if it was $1500+

"I don't care what it looks like just reserve me one"

I didn't really care because "everyone had one" and avoided getting caught up in the panic buying. Ironically they might end up being all we have left at the rate things are going. Not really my thing but I might end up getting something that takes STANAG magazines and 5.56 just because they're common.

I can understand that. The 5.56 kills just fine but there are a few newer rounds out that handily out-perform it without much compromise. It's so well established in the industry, though, that setting up one's platform(s) around it is a smarter choice if one wants simplicity and availability of aftermarket support.

Moving on, anyone here have experience with Kahles or Zero Compromise Optics? If so, tell me what you thought of them.

Kahles is awesome for low light hunting if you don't want to spend for Swarovski and need a fighting optic that isn't some short dot PM 2, $6k NF or leupold, or when an S&B is too heavy/big. i like and use the K624 on an accurized M21 build with good success at 1km.

I just got a surefire sr07 tape switch (https://www.surefire.com/sr07-weaponlight-switch/). I'm kinda retarded and didn't realize tape switch meant literally tape. I don't actually want to tape it to my rail - that seems stupid - anybody have a recommendation for some kinda of mount to mlok or the Pic rail?

I've seen people talk about hacking up the switch to make it fit a cloud defensive mount but I don't really wanna hack it up.

I wouldn't mind just zip tying it (I'm not looking for ig photos here) but I'm concerned about them melting - is that a reasonable concern or would I be just as good zip tying it in place?

Mine as well throw in one last question: my plan is to mount the light on the right side of the barrel (I'm a right handed shooter) and the tape switch somewhere on top of the rail (or off to the side slightly if I have to get an mlok mount). I'm thinking I want it immediately behind where I would normally cgrip- is that reasonable? I know I'll need to fine tune this for me I'm just real sure where to even start it at.

Thanks.

(Also whoever dropped photos of the replacement locking lever gas pedal for the x300 - you're the fucking man that thing is the shit)

They make outdoor rated zip ties that are supposed to be tough as hekk.
Maybe try those?

Assuming you actually bought the one you linked, it directly mounts to the rail and says it does in the description. The body of the switch is rubber and it just sort of clamps onto the rail it's self and has some small tabs to stop it from slipping front to back.

As far as placement, it's entirely up to you. Mounting it on the gun's top rail works fine and if you get any pict rail sections that mount to mlok you can put it just about wherever you want. If it's more of a question if if you would want to move your thumb backwards or forwards to activate the on/off button on the back from a sort of normal resting position on the tape switch section it's self.

Oh - i missed this. I bought a combo pack with the switch and the tailcap for the light - the manual for the tail cap says to use the double sided velcro on the bottom (which I hadn't wanted to peel yet but isn't actually there) - I definitely have an sr07 not st07.

Good catch. I guess the zip ties or some fancy (hopefully existing) mlok mount is the way.

Finally finished with it.

If your rail is hot enough to melt a zip tie you have bigger problems.

I can theoretically get a table at the fun show and sell chunks of my collection.
Got anything interesting your trying to off load?

An Australian cop recently got pinched for Illegal gun manufacture, turned his home into a factory in order to supply gangs
I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but the only person gun control deprives of arms is the private citizen. Which is the entire point.

✅ 5.56
✅ Takes STANAG MAGS HENH023-223_2_HR.webp

How well does it shoot for you?

I likely asked this previously but I'm too lazy to search through the thread: anyone here commission a custom 1911 from any of the well known builders (Rogers, Novak, Christiansen, Burton, Yost, C&S, etc.)? If so, what did you think?
its a beretta 92 with a better trigger and a lighter spring, so its accurate and smooth.

I've got 2 LTT 92s so I know what you mean. Sorta.

Is it only marginally different than a standard 92 with fire control upgrades? I can't imagine the frame safety and the red dot make a huge difference. Anyway, please remind me whose pistol this one is modeled after.

Theyre Chris's grips. So it would be one of his none blued guns. This is essentially an LTT 92 I just did the work myself after buying the parts from him. 12 pound trigger so maybe ever so lighter on the trigger. the red dot is just for my comfert as it is my carry gun.

I've been meaning to put an order in for the LTT upgrade parts, I have a NIB INOX that I want to slick up. The stock 92 is great but I want the experience of tearing it down and replacing all the working bits for something special, you know?

Rail Scales makes M-Lok panels that have slots in them for securing tape switches. There are other brands out there as well. A simple Google search for something like "M-Lok tape switch mount/panel" should help you find what you're looking for.
