Barrels only really wear out in the first few inches of barrel past the chamber, and only really for over bore cartridges like the quarter bores and smaller. and "burnt out" barrels to most of these guys means the groups open up to over 1 MOA.

I guess sure if your some super duper PRS champion that's gonna hurt you but...... for practical use? that's fine. that's more than fine.

and burn out isn't much of a concern if you are not trying to get ultra fast velocities either, especially on .30 cal and higher. at .35 cal and above its basically impossible to burn a barrel, even with hot loads. .375 H&H magnum is the best Magnum and it's barrel life is theoretically in the multiple tens of thousands. a beat to shit M1903 springer will still probably shoot well as long as the barrel's been kept clean. on a new .30-06 i think you'd have to be intentionally trying to burn a barrel. heavier projectiles seem to slow down the wear too somehow, IDK the science.

I think on .357 mag the number quoted by the GIGN on their MR73's was 100,000 full house magnums before accuracy started to decrease
Yeah although ultra hot rounds like .277 fury will kill barrels faster than stuff like 7.62x51 and 5.56mm.

Oh I was at the NRA show in ATL last weekend.

Y'all enjoy these discount codes, most expire by May 2nd by DeSantis is good until May 8th or 10th

Yo that Desantis is mighty tempting and I was looking at some sort of shoulder rig for my M11 but unfortunately they don't make them and also I'm not sure if it was the P228 or 9 it would go to I'd wager the 228 cause the whole round trigger that aside it's a sweet shooter and it's one I got on a whim and I've always had great luck when I get something with zero to minimal research into it, they had it used at the shop for dirt cheap and whoever had it just left it sit in box after putting a hundred rounds or so though it judging by the wear.

I took a stabo at updating this; I'll probably just up the prices $50 on everything post Biden.
I could use one more 9mm and 45 ACP under $550 retail.
If anyone knows anything about optic, chime in, cause I don't.
I'll probably rewrite my screed against Gucci guntubers to be less 🧩 unhinged.
I could use any additional guides, tips, site recommends, and meme that are funny unlike K

Went to a gun store yesterday. They have a fee for everyday after 7 days your transfer is there without pickup. This guy was there holding up the counter. They charged him an extra $330 or something because he never picked his shit up. The crazy part is the guy had no issue at all. I somewhat suspect due to inherent features of this individual that he was going to sell it to someone else and get that money back.

Used to see that shit all the time you'd see someone with their girlfriend who's literally coaching her step by step on what to buy and how to fill out the application QUESTION: why not just have them buy the gun themselves and transfer it ove..............oh wait it's because it's a nigger with a criminal record who's doing a literal straw purchase but you can't call them out on that cause that's wasis.

I was doing some shopping and heard one of the guys take a call to hold onto his order for an entire month. I can't stand waiting for shipping, how can someone put it off that long?

If you're going to plug youth .22 rifles, might as well add the Ruger 10/22 (or any of the myriad knockoffs) and the Savage Mk II to the rifle list. Yes, it's not a "serious" caliber, but even a plain-Jane 10/22 is one of the most fun guns you can buy and magazines aside, the Mk II is very solid.

Optics is a whole can of worms that would easily be its own page, but I can say that Holosun, Primary Arms and Vortex all offer very serviceable stuff for people on a budget.

I'll add Burris as a great entry level to Very Good level optics.

Foxarmy and AT3 also make good stuff when it comes to budget optics. I wouldn't put them on the same level as Holosun, PA and Vortex, but still good.

Ruger RXM for 9mm. I don't have any experience with the Lord's caliber stuff but Ruger and S&W make a couple models that fit the bill. I might suggest added the S&W bodyguard 2.0 to the small caliber section, it regularly is sold for 365 dollars.
Site stuff:
The sister subreddit to /r/gundeals, /r/gundealsfu, is helpful to read real reviews on sites to know if they're sketchy or not. The current big red flags is not being able to find a physical location associated with the website and only taking crypto currencies.
Optics:
The Sig Romeo 5, the now discontinued generation 1 as well as the gen 2, are good value ~100-125 dollars. The holosuns are also just fine for a simple dot. Someone wrote up a big effort post in self sufficiency here about pistol dots. The Vortex viper 1-6 for ~$500 is good value, it's just heavy, their new venom 1-6 is a good budget scope, so is the Primary Arms Slx 1-6 for around $350 (I think it goes on sale simi-frequently). Hell a set of gen 2 mbus iron sights are super budget and can get a poor up and running at self defense distances for like 60 bucks

I'm not sure I would trust a plastic dot when there are metal and glass alternatives at the same pricepoint. Not sure I would give my money to Sig either, at this point. Nevermind, I'm retarded.

plastic? neither my gen 1 or gen 2 romeo 5s have a polymer body. the gen 1 is a copy from the same factory as the holosun equivalent. sig electro optics are different company than the gun part of sig. if you mean their pistol dots, ya those seem to suck (generally)

Shit, you're right. My apologies.
