EDIT: any word if this applies to bullpup pistols? Wish I could say I was "asking for a friend," but I own no such retard contraption.
 
Anyone have experience with the Zenith MP5K clones? Looking to build out a PDW for the car in the event of chimpouts so rock-solid life on the line reliability is priority one.
 
So with FRT's back on the menu has anyone bootstrapped a .22 S&W or CMMG conversion yet? And if so are there any reliable drums for such?

At least with one of the FRTs out there, it basically will only work in ARs because there is a lever on the rear of the trigger pack that has to be tripped by the rear of an AR bolt carrier in order to even drop the hammer. I saw a video where they put an FRT in a number of different platforms, including an LMT MWS308, Q Boombox, and one of those 12ga shotguns that uses an order style DPMS lower. The FRT would work in the Boombox because it has a bolt carrier of similar size to an AR15 and uses a higher quality steel to be small but strong enough for .308 based cartridges, but it would not work in the LMT because the carrier was too large to trip the lever. It also wouldn't work in a SIG MPX or a PWS piston AR. It did work in the Daniel Defense 9MM PCC.

The real stupidity is that their agreement has no practical effect for either party. DOJ psudo deputizes Rare Breed to patent troll and get rid of FRTs for them and says you're good as long as you defend your patent, BUT either party can break the agreement without any penalties. FRTs are in reality in the same position they were prior to the whole rare breed fiasco. Though, if the gov ever* (*read: when the gov) goes after someone for FRTs they will lose assuming the courts apply Bruen appropriately. The speculation on pistols, or gaming their agreement for our benefit, is a red herring.
There are issues regarding the strength of Rare Breed's patent and how well they will be able to continue to enforce it, so what then? What happens when people make pistol FRTs en masse and it upsets the government? What happens when there are FRTs that don't utilize Rare Breed's patent and can't be patent trolled out of existence which upsets the government? The government will break their agreement and there is no mechanism for Rare Breed to punish the government for doing so. This is likely not NAGR's fault, and is Rare Breeds. It gives them a faux security and the ability to temporarily corner the market via retarded means.

When it comes to "firerate enhancers" I always act under the assumption that the Government is gonna declare them to be machine-guns and confiscate/order destruction at some point and unless one of three things has happened:
A) The courts have already ruled the part to not constitute a machine-gun.
B) There are enough of them in circulation to make banning practically impossible (the situation pistol braces are currently in).
C) SCOTUS ruled the Machine-Gun Ban unconstitutional:optimistic::optimistic::optimistic:.
While I am interested in the developments related to FRTs, Bumpstocks, and other toys I do not see myself purchasing one. (Maybe I'm just cynical, but I really don't see much progress in this sort of stuff).

This would have likely been the end result of the FRT litigation, but for whatever reason Rare Breed decided they wanted this shit instead. I don't think you're overly cynical, but I think FRTs rise above mere novelty and can survive in the courts. I'd buy one if they get a nice 3 position safety selector (not crossbolt) and a company can get the price down to sub $200 for a no fuss drop in.

I'd be nice to get a 3 posi for less than a geissele. Hell I'd be even cooler if manufacturers just started including frt style stuff in every gun. Would bring alot of life into the PCC market. Imagine getting a mp5 or 9mm AR from the factory with a FRT style trigger.

I think this will happen. Maybe once Rare Breed's website goes up on monday we'll see a "thank you sale". I can dream.

One thing I wonder though, is if the DOJ is actually expecting Rare Breed to be single handedly able to lock down the FRT market by themselves. They aren't exactly a large company, and they've had tons of resources used up in this years long court battle. They got debanked, they had all their inventory seized, their FFL was suspended, they laid off all their staff, and haven't been making any revenue. Now, if there's an explosion in (presumably) patent infringing FRT clones, how are they going to sue all of these people? With what money? Yeah, they'll probably get some cashflow from getting their inventory back, but is that going to offset all the costs they've incurred?

What happens if Rare Breed goes under? Or they sell the patent? Or maybe even just license it out? Is the DOJ going to step in again?

We probably watched the same video.

I'm super interested to see if he can get the 12 gauge running. Hopefully, he lets us know if either factory can get him that extra 1mm on either part.
 
Is an AR 10 worth it? I've already got my other bases covered in terms of guns and I'm looking for a budget variant.
