That steel based 5.56 is gonna be the move imo. I saw some straight walled 5.56 from somewhere in Asia that looked sick and was able to achieve the same power but with less weight and double the capacity or so. Seeing THAT with the steel base at 80k would be awesome, but even 80k regular 5.56 will still be swag, and has the upside of more case capacity/power vs a straight wall 5.56.

I guess you gotta figure out if you'd rather match/slightly improve power but boost the shit outta weight savings/capacity, or have some more power for the same gear you already have. Curious to see if civs end up getting this stuff and how reloadable it is. Doing a .300blk a or .338 wildcat on this case would be pretty sweet

It looks like there is a pmag or something for an AR on the ground. If I had to guess based on everything else in the photo, it's a poverty pony AR with the cheapest Chineseium red dot that money can buy. If there are any optics on it at all.

whats the best .380 pocket pistol ruger SCP or the S&W bodyguard 2.0?

The S&W Bodyguard 2.0 is unironically the best micro compact I have ever held or fired in my life. It feels fantastic in the hand, has more than manageable recoil, and the power is more than adequate. Not saying there may not be better out there depending on your needs, but I love mine and would highly recommend it to any man capable of handling it. Only reason I can not say it's for everyone is because I guarantee women or men with weak grips and fingers would struggle to operate the slide release and rack the slide. With the ten round magazine, its's extremely concealable. Only other criticism I have is that it's a little too small for IWB carry with the 10 round magazine, and the magazines are stupid fucking expensive. But I still think it's worth it.

If I ran the ATF I'd have an entire task force dedicated to searching social media and tracking down groids with switches. It's truly mind boggling

Palmetto State Armory is suing the Federal Government to repeal the NFA. They will crowdfunding the ongoing suit to push this as far as they can. Anyone's guess at how far they will get, but this does seem to be a step in the right direction.

I'm always skeptical about the military changing the main service rifle of the army simply because they can't make up their fucking mind. How many shiny brand new calibers have been rolled out by companies getting gun owners to CONSOOM more, only for them to fall flat on their face? The "upgrading" of the M4 to the Sigger XM7 is laughable considering the last few attempts to replace the M4 had candidates that were actually solid. If I hear of one more glaring issue regarding the army's shitty meme gun I'm going to officially be filling out an apology form to FN regarding the Scar 16.

alright Im leaning into the a s&w bodyguard 2 for an ez light pocket carry I can lug around while working in the city, concealability, durability, and pocket carry are what Im looking for (I do blue collar/ outdoor work) however in my research I stumbled across the the FN 503 its praised for its robust build and reliability and is in 9mm granted its 6+1 vs 10+1 however the only thing I really hate about .380 is .380 prices and 503 is also going for the exact same price as the BG, I decided to start to looking into the FN 503 and while I can find some established big names reviewing it I tend to be skeptical of any reviews made when it was released and honestly I can only find a handful of recent reviews so does any kiwis have any experience with shooting/ carry this pistol?

What did you guys start out with for a good rifle? What do you guys like consistently shooting at the range the most? From my limited understanding the AR-15 can be ship of thessius'd and is super customizable without being too overwhelming for beginners.

Was looking at this one but I have no idea about the vendor (Palmetto State Armory).

You can easily build a perfectly competent AR for $600 with stuff like PSA lower, upper, buffer, handguard, and a better quality barrel, bcg, and trigger. Retards will sperg about the PSA logo on the lower but it is a non-issue, spending money on high end stripped lowers is of little value because as long as the parts all fit correctly you gain nothing. However, will you find ARs fun? They're alright.

Try different stuff out to determine what you like best. Fun is subjective, my personal niche interest that I find most fun is cowboy style shooting. Quick draw, trick shooting, that kind of stuff. I have friends who are into tacticool or race guns, and we will go out for a day of shooting in a tactical bay or some other place that allows non-fudd shooting and I'm practicing my defensive shooting with my ordinary guns then when I'm done with that it's back to quick draw point shooting, shooting stuff thrown downrange, that kind of thing.

How so? IMO no way. Old, genuine PPs and PPKs chambered in what they are designed for are cool as historic guns but what you usually get in the US when you buy a "PPK" (a .380 PPK/S) isn't even a good toy and certainly hasn't been worth buying as a defensive option in 40 years. If you're going to carry a .380 you're better off carrying something smaller with the same or more capacity, and if you're going to carry something the size of a PPK, you're better off carrying a micro 9 which holds 10+ rounds of a better defensive use cartridge.

380 PPKs are unusually uncomfortable shooters for their size and chambering, it's almost puzzling. I don't find an identically sized mediocre micro 9 like a Hellcat any more uncomfortable than a heavy and significantly less powerful PPK.

I personally want to own less than lethals like flashbangs or stingers that I can fire out of an underbarrel grenade launcher in my lifetime.

For what? Less lethals are worthless for defense and if it's for fun, mortar fireworks are more fun than a flashbang will ever be. Of what use is a flashbang? Deafen someone in a defensive situation that warranted deadly force, rendering them a non threat and no longer warranting continuation of use of force? Or using the flashbang which could be considered deadly force in court on someone when it wasn't warranted so they can ruin your life with a lawsuit over the permanent injury? As a farmer, you will of course know that a lawsuit doesn't even have to be winnable to ruin you, the cost of defense can do that easily.

Just as a nonspecific FYI to all around, Flashbangs aren't like they are in video games. If exposed to a flashbang you will suffer permanent hearing damage possibly up to deafness, and they can cause permanent vision damage too if you are looking toward the thing when it goes off. There is also a nonzero fragmentation risk.

I'm still not sold on the steel-based high pressure cartridge idea. Gas port and barrel erosion would be serious issues, doublely so if shooting supresed. I am less sure about non gas operated rifles but operating at those pressures has to greatly accelerate wear. Look at all the problems with the initial versions of m855a1. Also straight wall cartridges at these pressures would have bad extraction issues.

Outside of maybe a dmr role I don't think the gains to velocity and bullet trajectory are worth it. Still you could gain most of that benefit by just using something like 6 ARC while staying in normal pressures. 5.56 is plenty powerful for the ranges it's intended to be used.

The scariest part of the whole ordeal is that nobody knows what guns are effected. The bad parts are not distinct from the good ones and I don't believe their was only a specific run of guns effected. It just has to be assumed they are all unsafe. Unfortunately the problem is still infrequent enough they will probably just settle the lawsuits and nothing will change.

Some of them vandalized and lit off fireworks to draw out cops and then fired at them. Must’ve been 3 shooters I think and then took off running. (They also signaled to the people in the wood line when to initiate the ambush)



If I had to guess that cop was saved by complete Antifa incompetence with poorly zeroed rifles. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out they’re connected to other leftist gun groups that produce funny videos of them barely able to hit a target en mass in a gun line like SRA or John Brown Gun Club.
