One day I watched a nigger walk into a gas station with an unholstered G26 with a 33rnd magazine just sticking out of his open sweatpants cargo pocket, and realized that I could probably carry a fucking AK under my shirt and nobody would notice.

I carry my G19 4 o'clock under a shirt and forget its even there at times.

Reholstering with a strong side holster isn’t necessarily safer. Watch yourself in a mirror. Unless you are shifting your hips far to the side the holster is on, and keeping the gun angled away from your body you are pointing the gun at your leg.

Same applies with appendix. If you take a step back with your leg and thrust your hips forward, you can get in the holster without pointing the gun at yourself.

I have one of those striker control device thingy's for my G19, so at least I'll know if I catch the trigger on anything while blindly stabbing at my holster with it.
 
Genuinely asking, in what situation in middle of one's regular day (and not in a bathroom or something and obviously most definitely not in an actual situation of defense) one going to need to unholster their CCW? And why can't you unhook your holster and reholster your gun and then reattach the holster to your belt?

Depending on how you stow your gun every morning and evening when you put the gun away and take it out. Also, for daily dry fire practice.

You CAN take the whole thing out, but why would you? Put the gun in the holster, and put the holsteres gun in your pants. Simple as.

To show off your new ccw to your friend who stopped by.
To turn off your flashlight after you realized what that burning sensation was.
Because you wanted to go to the Post Office but doing the whole belt thing is a pain in the ass.

Because you forgot to put Loctite on your holster screws and now its fucking falling off of you and its probably safer to just take the gun out and then extricate your holster from whatever situation its in.

Thats the best devils advocate I could come up with and none of them are very good reasons, except the first one that one is very important.

I guess Boney is right but I thought that confirming the condition of your weapon before putting it on was normal, same when putting it away.
 
My holster is really easy to take on and off and has a full length 'shelf' that stops the gun from touching me as well as gives my thumb something to push against when I go to unholster, so if I unholster I just pull the holster out, slip the gun back in, and stick that back on my belt. As far as the shelf goes, it gives me enough leverage to pop the holster off with just my thumb even if I were accidentally pull the holster along with it, though the retention clip is pretty aggressive so I don't see that happening

I carry a python OWB and no one has ever seemed to notice. never had an ounce of trouble OCing

I was always told that the gun being behind the belt would cause injury. If you need to draw belt comes unclipped while you draw as one motion so shouldn't be a consideration, and he drove that home pretty well.

That's why I started using a shoulder rig almost exclusively, especially since I spend so much time driving. I almost never wear t-shirts in public anyways, even in summer; no sweat with quality hot-weather button ups & undershirts or rashguards. The only time I carry on my waist is if I'm going less than 5 miles to the local Dollar General or gas station in my sweatpants/house clothes lol.

About the only time I'll remove my sidearm from it's holster/remove my holster with my pistol still inside when I'm not home is when I really have to take a dookie and there's no possible way I can hold it until I get home. If it's a normal public restroom with stalls next to each other, I'll take the holster off my belt and stick it in my pants/underwear between my legs as I sit on the toilet. If it's in a nice individual bathroom with a locking door, then I'll draw the pistol and set it gently on the counter pointed in a safe direction and ensuring the safety is on. Otherwise, it doesn't get drawn when I'm away from home unless there is a very clear and imminent threat to life and limb.
