After what's happen recently I've seen a few subreddits bitch about local ranges turning away people wearing lefty clothing and I'm okay with that. There was a time when I would've stuck up for them but I can't bring myself to care anymore. Welcoming and tolerating them in your community is tantamount to aiding and abetting the enemy. Sticking up for their rights doesn't matter when they're openly celebrating terrorism and life ruination against normal people. They're taking advantage of that asymmetry. One of the local public ranges go to has an Antifa group that trains there. They all wear red berets and blue jean overalls (Like Mario, no i'm not joking) they all pile out of a white van and this short bald white guy shows them how to shoot. Its the same exact shit as Atomwaffen showing up to run drills at the local CMP club but for some reason we're supposed to lend them the space and knowledge base to train future mass shooters because fairness. I'd never advocate for the government to outright disarm people but it think its completely moral to give the cold shoulder to people who can't police their own extremism. Give your local range an ADL tier list of common dog whistles so they can turn people away at the door; don't involve weirdos in forum conversations.

Colt Woodsman

I have a standard Woodsman (technically a pre-Woodsman) and it's really nice. It's one of those guns where you handle it and you can tell it was a good design made to a high standard. Unlike modern .22s it's not picky with standard velocity ammo so I can shoot my hoard of Remington Target through it. The only downside is spare magazines that work are like 150 bucks a pop.

Mine is also threaded but it sure ain't 1/2x28, I assume it will fit those old Maxim .22 silencers just fine.

The Woodsman is still in production by Connecticut shotgun (through their subsidiary Standard MFG):

CSMC and Standard make some of the highest quality production firearms in the united states at the moment. Their Single action army clone is the most accurate and well made clone out there. it is easily the equal of the Colt Custom Shop single actions being made today. Their Woodsman clone I'm sure is of the same quality.

They keep a lot of legacy designs alive. like the Winchester model 21, probably the highest quality SxS shotgun to come out of america. CSMC bought the production line and rights to the model 21 in the 90s when winchester was closing it down.

They make those because they are high profit items. Their nicer quality guns are very well made. fully customizable too which is fairly rare these days.

I need a serious piece of advice from serious shooters: I have a Pre-Garcia Sako Finnbear in 7mm Rem Mag. It has a custom trigger job, and a 28" mini-bull with a muzzle break. I would rather take the hit in my shoulder, vs. the crack of a shot(even with ear protection). This is a serious question, would hope for a serious answer.

I bought an 1851 Navy repro because of Kino's Journey and one day I'll buy one of these as well. I had the chance to finger fuck one once. They're such nice pistols.
Also everyone should own at least one black powder firearm if they're able to. They're hilarious to shoot and they're great for letting friends and family shoot, everyone enjoys them.
