Reports on: SCAR being cancelled
RIP
I was going to say that means civilian sales of the IWS, but the poster claims that's not going to happen, FN becoming just another AR manufacturer that sells handguns on the side? Sure they Always have military contracts to fall back on but they're in the civilian market for a reason. Their real problem was trying to sell an $800 gun for like $4k.
The only version of the SCAR that I thought was really cool was the HAMR automatic rifle. IIRC it could fire from open bolt or closed depending on fire mode, so you could have accurate semi-auto shots, or open bolt full-auto to help with barrel cooling and avoid cook offs.
I remember reading something about the HAMR about it having this special spring that was intentionally (maybe unintentionally?) designed so that
when it got hot (as a result of a lot of rapid full auto fire) either expanded and jammed up the gun until it cooled and contracted and allowed you to fire the gun again or broke and you had to have it replaced. Then again that sounds retarded so maybe it was a design flaw.
Sig Saar has been showing off more PIE M7 photos and look to have a gen 2 M250.

Very large anti-material rifle with VERY large suppressor with Russian forces. I have literally never seen one even similar to this example. While I am not an expert on the field of Anti-material rifles this would possibly indicate two things to me. This is a prototype that nobody at least in the English speaking world knows about yet or this is a craft or artistinally produced example.

Close up of the end cap of the Q LLC "Lefty" Suppressor that they've been trying to bring to market in one way or another for at least 8ish years and has been entirely reinvented from it's original concept (cheap, simple one weld suppressor) to now monolithic 3D printed design. The bore looks absolutely massive

Something very interesting I noticed. Silent Steel, a finish suppressor manufacturer who recently set up a branch her in the US manufacturers suppressor that incorporate stainless steel mesh into their construction.

I find this strange because I was under the impression that this method was recognized and obsolete by the mid 80's at the latest.
