I'm going to say, Eugene Stoner is one of those legendary OGs. The AR15 is far more powerful than video games and other media paints it. You have a 300 yard easy kill radius and fast trigger pull with 30 shots for $900 for a rifle, red dot and magnifier at the lowest end.
The only FPS game I've played that had any sort of realistic modeling of firearms and their use in combat is Escape From Tarkov because it's all about ergonomics and ammo quality. It's probably why .308 semiautos have had an increase in demand, see Null's posts about wanting an AR-10.

Honorable mention to Ready or Not but if you're getting gun fights in that game, you're aren't playing it right or got unlucky.

I have one of the hundred dollar bill Hi Points an idiot sold me for 75 bucks. I show it to people who visit my house for IRL shit posting.

I’ve got one of these too, goes over gangbusters at a range day, everyone loves it. I must say I am a little bit impressed by it, maybe 200-300 rounds through it without any issue, I expected far worse.

What do you guys do with cheap guns that you don't really want, but also aren't worth selling? I have a cheap .22 revolver, a couple of cheap .22 long guns, and a couple of cheap 12 gauge shotguns that I was either gifted or bought when I was broke, but I don't want them anymore. They're all functional, but you get what you pay for, and I am at the point in my gun ownership that I don't want a bunch of shitty dumpster blasters anymore.

SGAmmo sometimes has Barnaul and/or Golden Tiger 7.62x39 on sale, and it has LVE 7.62x54R on sale right now. These are some of the best steel case for their respective calibers. I also sometimes see decent steel case on Atlantic Firearms and Classic Firearms as well.
As others said Buybacks are good for generating cash for things you actually want and might pay you more than a Pawnshop would. Or for the rifles and shotguns you could just form 1 them and take hacksaws to their barrels. Increase the number of SBR's and SBS's and make grabbers seethe at the same time.

The rifles have muzzle devices (probably suppressors) that as far as I know have never been seen before and there exists no other images of. All photos of Suppressed ADS rifles have featured conventional cylindrical suppressors.

Gun grabbers aren’t FOIA’ing BATFE stats on new registrations. If anything they’d be happy you’re registering it instead of rocking a “loophole” brace.

Reminds me of the oppositional defiance spergs who were registering literal potatoes as suppressors for magical internet points. Have fun filing the paperwork declaring it destroyed when it grows roots in your pantry.

One of the things that keeps causing problems with the realism in tarkov is that the ballistics simulation is at a reduced scale so things that are second or third order consequences of pursuing hard realism just don't work, like the rangefinders on scopes. .308 at 250 yards drops about a foot and a half. Shooting 5.56 at 400 yards you have to lead like six, seven feet above your target. From top of dome to the top of bunkers on reserve is probably the longest sniper vantage point in the game and it's like 450 meters, though, so i guess it's for a good reason?

Or you can always use them for 'smithing/bubba projects, that can be cool too.
This is what I do with mine. For better or worse my state doesn't do buybacks and plenty of mine are too shitty/broken for even the hood pawnshops to buy. An acquaintance gave me an entire gym bag full of Saturday night specials that she took from her schizophrenic felon relative. Now I just use them for practicing coating application, rust removal, threading etc.

I’ve got a mavrick 88 that I’m eventually going to turn into the Halo shotgun. Eventually

If a girl gave me a duffle bag full of Saturday Night Specials she'd very quickly go from acquaintance to fiance, c'mon guy what the hell!!!

Also any recommendations on videos about doing your own bluing at home? Went hiking and camping in the mountains with my Bersa Thunder and it got rusted pretty bad after I spent the night with it inside my sleeping bag, it was all surface rust and cleaned out after scrubbing hard with WD-40 but now the finish on the slide isn't anywhere near as nice as it was.

Someone already did it with a wingmaster so I assume its not that hard. Pretty sure Garand Thumb did a video running around with this thing

Yeah I got the idea from garand thumb I think. Or possibly Ian because he also showed one. It’s been a while so I can’t remember. That project is destined to stay in the R&D phase for quite some time. But it makes me feel less guilty of owning TWO mossberg Mavericks

Looks like Gforce is bad even by turkslop standards. How awful is the quality if dropping the frame can cause the barrel to rotate (2:04 in the clip)? Is it even threaded to the receiver or just glued in place?

[edit] Not to mention the firing pin breaking after ~600 rounds, that's worse performance than probably all Ring of Fire firearms.

Normally yes but unfortunately I'm not into GILFs. Rust boiling is the process you want. If you boil the slide in a stainless steel pot of distilled water, it will convert the rust back into black finish. It wont reverse pitting but it will make red surface rust go away. You'll have to buff the metal between passes to blend it back in which is best done with a carding wheel (10-25 dollars on amazon) but you can also do it with steel wool. Not expensive or complicated, just time consuming.

This place making "Fallout-inspired" wood A1 furniture, has been popping up on Facebook lately:

Limited edition and mahogany too??.... that's gotta be a steal at only $520!
:story:
While an unfinished set in walnut still costs near as much:

For as much as I like ARs set in wood... but holy hell lol. I guess these guys are really banking on Fallout fanboys for these things to sell.

what if the blue fuck was that finish? My Ruger and Winchesters are blued and I've carried them in the pouring rain and driven snow. In the highest humidity of southern summers and they've only developed spotted rust that wipes away with a cloth.

That pistol looks like you left it in a puddle for a week. wtf.

The Turkish and Brazilian guns are total dog shit and only fools buy them.

You can understand why H&K was going after it, because now every EU country can use this case as a precedent, and skip public tendering when it comes to military small arms. Means, that H&K can lose potential military contracts worth hundreds of millions of euros. This obviously applies to every gun manufacturer out there, but H&K seemed particularly pissy about it.
Thanks for the info, I hadn't heard of this. And good, fuck HK. All my niggas hate HK, and I own a few HKs myself.

Having a few nearly worthless guns around isn't a bad thing. It's not like they take up a lot of space.

Sheeit that's pretty terrible, how dry (no oil) was that finish? Now I've never even owned a Bersa and I can't tell what that finish is supposed to be in that condition, but I'd say it's a decent opportunity to watch some youtube videos about DIY bluing and re-finish that thing. In my younger days I did some cold bluing on the cheap after a brass brush scrub down and I've removed a couple of rust spots with pencil lead then cleaned and spot blued with cold bluing on an old Kel Tec, that came out ok in a pinch, but I've never dealt with something like that without a re-finish so I can't tell you how to salvage it. I can only offer the advice that you oil the new finish well and let it sit a bit before wiping it down to allow some oil to soak in, and I'd maybe look into finding a more durable camping/hiking gun in the long term.

fellas, i started looking up some of those neat little fiber heat resistant covers you put on a suppressor and i got annoyed at some of the 175+ price tags going on. it's a metal condom and an oven mitt. i don't want to get some chinkshit, but if it means i can unscrew the can while it's nice and hot i might get one of the bullshit ones off amazon.
