I think I've posted my Lima6 here before, Had to send the barrel to redrill/dimple (rifle length gas needs to be EXACT*, where as other gas lengths have wiggle room, turns out doing this with a handrill and a 3d printed jig is a little inaccurate ).
Didn't pick up a Lima6 barrel when those were in stock at KAK...
the barrel I sent out has gotten lost on the way there and back with the USPS.
It's been weeks guys, I'm loosing it, I just want to get it working.

*I also have a sneaking suspicion that even with it drilled out by them there might not be enough gas. It was only cycling about halfway back, not enough to strip a cartridge. So I probably need another barrel anyway!
/rant
So update, it runs in single, with short belts, Drags the bolt way to much with belts over 20 rds.
Super safe gets light strikes, I don't have an (what they recommend with rifle length gas) H2 buffer to test, but I did have an H3 (kspec so dampens bolt velocity a little more than a regular h3) and it took way to much energy out to the system. My suspicion was right, with Rifle gas you just can't get enough energy to do super safe Beltfed things.
Lima6 did just post up their mid length 18" barrels in their store, So I'm just redoing my whole barrel/handguard setup lol, and buying the recommended buffer and spring.
Good thing I got my bonus.

If you are considering building I would strongly recommend just buying at minimum a prefab barrel, There has been so much headache from doing that myself. Or you could just buy the pre made upper, all things considered it's a really good value.

Pretty happy that it works in single fire still, I bought a lot of parts when this was still really early in development so as more technical info came out everything I wanted was "possible' but very suboptimal.

It's hard to do an inspection on something you've only just seen. Sight alignment, making sure the ejector rod is more than hand-tight, make sure the cylinder doesn't have too much rotational wiggle after dropping the hammer(while still holding the trigger down), check the sear engagement by cocking the hammer and pressing on it and eyeball the cylinder gap.
Thankfully most of the problems Smith's been having are with the more popular models, like the 686 unscrewing its own ejector rod and having terrible cylinder gap/endshake.
Welp .... The trade in was a JOKE so a relative is getting my 617-6 4 inch this weekend.

Now for the 617 MG.... Ohh man

Looked really pretty, sights weren't wobbly and the barrel looked straight to me.

However..... I fed it 10 snap caps to check it's DA/SA functioning and and ohh boy it didn't go so well.

It would hitch/hang up BAD on 1-2 chambers out of the 10, double action couldn't complete with one finger and the hammer couldn't be pulled back all the way to stage it in semi action unless you really pull it. I didn't want to fuck up a gun I hadn't paid for so I didn't dry fire it more than 20x, 10 DA, 10 SA. Ejection was fine, lockup and timing seemed a ok.

The cylinder was also a bear to swing out as well, felt almost like it was stuck. WAY more sticky than my 617. Like almost two sets of fingers needed to swing it out.

Should I pass on that example or hope the issues work themselves out or a trip to S&W fixes them?

I can get one from an online retailer for a bit less but run the risk of possibly getting an even more fucked up example..... Or one that's essentially perfect 🤪 Note that I put "generic" money down at this LGS so I can say no on the gun and get a refund or buy something else with the deposit..... Aka I didn't do the FFL.

TF do I do kiwibros???

Sounds like the ejector rod was partially unscrewed/actively unscrewing, but that's just my guess with personal experience in mind. The odds of Smith & Wesson fixing it are an actual coinflip if it turns out to need fixing/parts replacement, unfortunately, and it would cost more time than money which is the true crime.

Yeah that's I read on some forums.

Fuukkk this is hard 🤔

Take the pistol that's on hand or order another and maybe get a nicer one or a worse one. I've used gun warranties before and this is not a fighting pistol tbh ....

I do have access to good gunsmiths locally thank God, three shops in fact.

Hmmm 🤔 I'll go ask a gunsmith shop tomorrow and see what they say. Worse case I just get a bodyguard 2.0 at the LGS and order a 617 MG online lol 😆

the midwest MP5 handguard is where it's at. put the protac light with a cantilevered mlok mount on the top right position holding it close but past the muzzle so no carbon on the lens. the wide handguard has its style but the mlok slots on it angle in a little bit. that tri rail will get you singing a different tune

That looks pretty fucking rad. I'm still sorting out the setup for my Dissent and I'll be on my third light setup (Streamlight RM2G at 6 o'clock) as soon as the bits arrive. It absolutely does not help that there are no sling points on it natively.

Also, the factory pistol grip absolutely had to go - I'm sure somebody somewhere likes super skinny MOE-angle grips but I am not one of them, so it's wearing my favorite K2XL now.

Ordered an Infinitac Fast Mini FMP13 - gonna piggyback it onto one of my LPVO's and see if it's at least good enough to blast coyotes and hogs.

ATF might be chimping out about airsoft guns according to one redditor
Might be? Bruh the atf has been doing this for at least 15-20 years.

Here's a story on the atf siezing airsoft m4s because they said the lowers could be put on uppers and function as fully auto firearms along with some dei retard not knowing how to load an m4

Me: "Well this just looks like a Temu SAA.."

the M&H revolvers in top condition are so well machined that the cylinder will actually create a vacuum when you open the gun sometimes. you can see it try to pull the cylinder back. Ian demonstrated this in his video on them.

They also have interchangeable barrels. you could order one frame and any length barrel. like 3 inch, 6 inch and 8 inch. they were also available in double action and engraved.

They are well worth the ~3k they generally sell for. outstanding firearms.

So my folding brace (will become a stock when I get around to SBRing it) arrived finally:

I know that people like to shit on Strike Industries (and when it comes to the colored anodized stuff and some of their muzzle devices, I'll join in), but I can't fault their single-folding brace/stock. Reasonably priced, locks up super well when extended and tucks up nicely against the receiver when folded. Also the little cheek riser is worth the $20 or so I paid for it.

Replacement light should arrive tomorrow and sights (fixed HK style front and folding rear) should be here a couple of days after that, but it's complete enough now to take to the range for function testing and zeroing this weekend at least. Ended up settling on a single point sling setup clipping to the picatinny QD mount clamped to the upper.
