I really can't help but feel a little vindictive right now.

I live in an AWB state that surprisingly doesn't suck as much as NY or CA. Don't get me wrong, it does suck, but not as much as people might think it is. Anyway, a bunch of years ago I bought a S&W 1006 off of gunborker and I was pretty stoked about it. It was in really nice condition, had a few extra mags, and I thought at the time the price was great (it wasn't). Paid and sent LGS's FFL immediately so the seller would ship quickly. It was a sporting goods store in VA so I figured that it would arrive pretty quick. Fast forward a day or so, and I get an email from these people saying that the gun is illegal in my state and that they can't ship, and to expect a refund in the coming days. I was confused because the 1006 was definitely not banned by name or features at all, we have no roster, and the mags are all 9 rounds, so I made the mistake of calling the store directly to see if I could clear things up. The nasty, fat, hillbilly boomer who I was eventually connected to said proudly (summarized) "we don't wanna deal with you commies from commie states hurr durr! Guess y'all shoulda VOTED DIFFERENTLY!! HURR DURR!! Maybe fight for your rights or move to a FREE STATE!!!!! DURRRRRR!!!! AND LOLOLOL WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHAT IF WE GET AN AWB???? WE AIN'T GETTING NO AWB SINCE THIS IS A FREE STATE DURRRRRR!!!" Before hanging up on me.

Hmmmm..... GUESS YOU SHOULDA VOTED DIFFERENTLY NIGGER! HMMM????

The good news is, a month or two later I managed to find a 1006 in about the same or possibly nicer condition with a shit ton of mags for about 300 bucks cheaper so oh well whatever. Fuck niggers who think they live in "free" states.

There’s a subset of boomer conservatives that take absolute glee in watching other states rot. They like to LARP as patriots but at the end of the day they only care about themselves and their property values. Places like arfcom are ripe with them.

I understand why vendors get frustrated having to deal with ban state laws but they would do well to realize precedence/common use has been established as basis for protection as of recent proceedings. Boo hoo nigga, you gotta do more paper work but flooding ban states with standard-cap magazines and "assault weapons" is increasing the number of people affected by injunctions / legal proceedings which is a long term win for you.

To quote Benjamin Franklin, "democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what's for lunch." All it took was a majority and now they are ramming this in despite this not being a serious campaign issue last November.

Just because you think a state that doesn't vote your way deserves it doesn't mean this won't inevitably affect you. Now that VA is walking in lock step with NY, CA, and other blue shit holes, means super PACs like Everytown USA or Moms Demand Action don't need to send money to that state to buy politicians. Who is next? Pennsylvania? Ohio? Michigan?

This spreads and the tribal politics based on state lines will get ugly. This will inevitably bite you in the ass when they go for a national ban and they absolutely will try to in 2029.

I feel like the word "unconstitutional" is just cope and opium for the 2A movement in general.

SCOTUS refuses to touch the major bans.

Trump's DOJ under Bondi is willing to defend ATF rules that the gun control movement wants around.

California is basically allowed to do whatever it wants and now we are here.

The supreme court also basically just ruled that cops can raid your house without a warrant if they are serving the wellness of the community or some shit.
It was unanimous BTW.

This has been bugging me. Anyone own a Marlin 39A? Does it have a separate locking lug? How I've interpreted online descriptions and diagrams is that there's nothing else but the lever hand holding the bolt from flying back when the rifle is fired.

just the lever is more than enough. the 39 was also available in .32.

I got curious when I read about case bulging at the base of the cartridge in 39 models. I'm thinking it might be caused by the round recoiling backwards a hair while still under pressure, this could be caused by the lever mechanism becoming slack over time. A rifle with a locking lug generally cannot have the same problem, unless the lug or the parts if connects with are really flimsy.

Other suggestion I've read is insufficient support at the chamber mouth that causes it to expand over time. But this could just be a secondary effect of the case escaping back and expanding due to lax locking.

It's not worth being sued into oblivion. I'm pretty sure we're in for one or two more industry panic buying sessions with a lot of manufactures making exit plans. We can blame the dems for a lot of stuff and rightfully so but gun owners really aren't that politically active and prefer to offload the defense of the 2A to 2A orgs. NAGR, NRA, FPC both make shit loads of money "fighting" in the courts but eh.
TLDR -
1. Not enough 2A people care enough to be politically active and prefer to paypig,
2. The big gun rights groups do retarded things and are motivated by money
3. Even if we get past 1 & 2 the only "gun friendly" politicans we elect do the bareminimum to keep us coming back (200 -> 0 NFA stamp reduction & now pushing concealed carry reciprocity which they won't get because conservates are set to get destroyed mid terms)

Biggest black pill was organizing a pro 2A protest and like 3 people showed up with 1 person being a troon and the other 2 being boomers. "Fuck you I got mine" is alive and well with millennials.

California is currently sueing two 3d printing gun makers in Florida.

And I have not heard any statements from red state politicians mad at it lol.

If all it takes is some random mujeet from Bangladesh, who is just a placeholder for Bloomberg, to end an entire state's common use of guns for decades, within a day. Then I do not see happy endings over where this story ends.

Yup our french lawyer and a lot of printer bois are getting sued.

"muh gonna fight in the streets because they dun took our gunz" is pure cope and will never happen. Politicians fear the left because they will legitimately shoot you in the face or burn down your business. The right as a whole does not have the political fervor to do anything. And that's why the left gets whatever they want.

When the boomers told us to just fight in the courts, we shouldn't have listened to them.

Boomer cons never do hold their own elected politicians to account as well.

Corryn for example authored the only gun control bill that passed during Biden's era. And still has like 40 percent approval in the GOP primary.

I can’t tell you how much I hate that place and its users. Truly Reddit for boomers.
They're all tactitarded neo-fudds too.
I can't speak to the forums so much however I will say that I've found the people on EE to be generally quite understanding and willing to do a bit of hoop jumping to help a nigga out in a ban state by disassembling shit or shipping stuff separately to keep things legal.
Unfortunately GD's retardation has ran most good people off from the tech forums and EE. Arfcom has went to the dogs just in the last 10 years that I've been on the site, and that was already after the good times were over so I've been told. the sandy-hook panic really wrecked the place if you believe the old guys.

Unfortunately a lot of the knowledgeable people were banned for offending the boomers and the funny people were banned for being funny. I'm banned too so now i just lurk GD for industry drama.

It bothers me that Leupold's Optic and mount finder will let you choose options and give you results that are discontinued. Why. for what reason would you do this?
it also doesn't even list or recommend all the products applicable. you have to sort through their shitty store (Which doesn't let your sort by manufacturer, which is important for scope bases...)
