Mega Rad Gun Thread

yknow how ruger has that crazy good investment casting that they use to make the mini 14? well what if they used that tech to make something similar to the old ring of fire pistols, but of actually decent quality? those were already cast of zamak, but what if they were made out of a non-shitty metal? and if still cast they would still be ridiculously cheap. one gets dissasembled in this video and it's amazing how cheap it looks to make.

Why would they? That .22 for example is only a little smaller than an LCP.

the problem is that the molds and tooling is not cheap.

Tax return came in. Paid off my last credit card bill and the line of credit I used to buy my Rickenbacker 4003W electric bass. I've still got a bit left over, plus some scratch I had been saving, so I think I'm going to use it to buy a Guncrafter Industries stainless steel 2011 grip module for my Staccato P since the texture on the stock grip is wearing holes in my clothes when I carry it, and whatever I have left after will go towards a 9mm suppressor.

Looking at either the Huxworx Flow 9k or the Rugged Suppressors Sub9. Both have HUB mounts, so I'll be able to get whatever I need to run it on a pistol or 9mm PCC like my Vector. The Flow 9k comes with a Nielsen Device, so I'd just have to get a HUB tri-lug mount for it, and the Sub9 comes with a tri-lug mount so I'd just have to get a HUB Nielsen Device for it. The Flow 9k is geared more towards a pistol host, and the Sub9 is geared more towards a PCC/subgun host, but both are quiet, low backpressure cans and I've been hearing really good things about both, especially the Sub9. Whichever can I decide on, I want to be able to use it on both my Staccato P and any 9mm PCCs I own, like my Vector or the Freedom Ordnance FM-9D I plan on getting later this year. My SiCo Hybrid 46M is quiet on my Vector, but it's damn big and heavy so I want something better suited to 9mm. I had always planned on getting a 9mm can eventually.

Other goals I'm hoping to get this year is a new wheelgun for carry and a new Marlin 1895 SBL. Probably going to get one of the new Colts, either a Python/Grizzly if I decide to go .357, or Anaconda/Kodiak if I decide on .44. I really like the Griz and Kodiak and think the Kodiak in particular loaded with .44 Special defensive loads would make for a helluva sweet carry gun and a really nice shooter, given that it's ported.

The big goal is the FM-9D, but I'll probably have to take out a loan for it. I want to make it happen, fellers. The thought of an FM-9D with FRT to basically have myself a poor man's belt-fed sub machine gun just tickles me too much.

i've never heard anyone talk shit on a canik pistol. they must either live like necrons silently enjoying their solid handgun or make power plays like our friend with his meth muncher 9000
Caniks have a relatively brittle striker, that's about it. They're a decent P99 copy but I would want something else for serious business.

Caniks are range toys IMO. Your first handgun should be something like a Glock or an M&P.

The Canik TTI is a great way to get into competition shooting on a budget though.

I like that DEAGLE branded DEALGE sbr, I could see more uses for it. (also in honor of the most spec ops navy seal marine I'd tiger stripe one) But I think it would be pretty controlable and really decent for hunting heavy steel and self defense against a group of bears etc.

22 cans are dope. I need to get one.

I'm being a cheap fuck and got a spare charging handle for an AR instead of another latch... still confused how I lost just the latch?

Only thing I can think is that the CH latch roll pin walked out, but that seems improbable, if not impossible. I just use Radian Raptors now and haven't had any issues with them. I have a couple of BCMs in the parts box - never had issues with them either but they're not quite as nice to use so they got replaced.

It annoys me because they are making the gun I wish Walther would make - a P365/Glock 43x -sized P99 in the form of the Mete MC9 - but I wouldn't trust my life to anything made by a turkroach.

They did and it was the CCP, shit recalled. I love my CCP but even shipping out for recall I don't trust it and it's a dust collector. feels like a short cz 75.

That was kinda my guess, still weird. Raptors are really nice and fine for most any set up. Gas busters aren't good if you aren't always shooting supressed imho.

The CCP physically resembles a P99 but functionally it is a completely different animal. It's a gas delayed blowback which is a system that has always been really cool in theory, but never quite caught on in practice.

I really like the gun a lot, but it had the frame crack issue and they did something to it but it's the same frame. I finger fucked one and next thing I knew it was mine. I didn't really have a great smaller carry pistol at the time. I just dunno, and who wants to shoot that on the reg just for fun?

My dumb ass carries my makarov still for a compact.

My dad's P7s are gas delay blow back, such cool guns someone is making them again. For an engineer you can't be the stereotype one with out carrying that pistol. I think the complexity and added cost is a big problem, also John Browning did guns right, why fuck around with it!

Quick thread Q, for a purse gun (mrs carries in her purse don't get on me I can't get her to do it otherwise) what do you think about RMR cut or something? She's not a great shot, and never used a pistol RMR and tbh I've only done it on full sized guns. But her Dagger (the gun not knife lol) just gets tucked away in the bottom so it gets gross and bumped into with shit like her sunglasses, wallet etc.

Only people i've seen or talked to who carry RMR guns OC/CC on body. It's not like she's throwing her purse around but maybe I'm over thinking.

Purse carry is retarded, pistol dots already scoop up and collect dust, it will snag on everything in the way and women already lose their phone and keys in there as it is.
I've heard the logic that a gun in a purse is more useful than a gun left at home but if you're preparing to respond to a deadly situation then you should probably take it a tiny bit more seriously.

Is she carrying in a regular ass purse? You should get one of those tacticool ones with a place built in for a holster or at least put some velcro inside hers so you can stick a holster on it.

As you said, better than left at home, so I won't get into this with her anymore. Also because her job it's better. I agree it's not what I told her but I can't win this one, with out not having it.

Oh super idea! Velcro it is!
