Collector news:
Marcolmar, known for making and supporting the CETME L series of rifles has ceased production of complete rifles. This end coincides with health issues of the owner, and Marcolmar being more or less through the parts kits they bought years ago.
From now on, while they will provide builder tools (such as the bend jig rental), most of their products, from flats to fully built reveivers will be sold through Centerfire systems instead. Currently centerfire has this first batch of receiver styles to pick from.

On the one hand its unfortunate, but they still seem to be making reveivers for people who want to keep the larp alive

What do gunkiwi? 686?
if you didn't the combat python you won't like the 686 because they are the exact same frame size and weigh almost the same.

and they're not heavy. get a good belt or shoulder rig and dress appropriately. Carry guns are meant to be comforting not comfortable. with appropriate belt and holster my 3 inch python has a perceived weight of nearly nothing.

I was wondering what the fuck everyone was raving about reloading because last I looked into it the savings were barely there and doing it at scale takes up a ton of time.

But I'll be... it seems things have vastly improved from a few years ago and materials are available. Grok is telling me it's normal to even save $0.15 a round on 9mm.

Nice! Maybe it's enough to get me to stop buying turkshit steel case for training. Idk if I've got time to commit to it though.
I feel like the real savings come from reusing brass, I have been looking into a 50bmg press even though I rarely shoot my 50 because I have a ton of brass from events. The only thing stopping me currently is the extra shit I'd have to buy. Dedicated trimmer, primers which are kind of hard to find, powder is surprisingly cheap if you go for surplus (WC872). I'll eventually end up buying a press but it'll take me a while to set it up. I'd be at like $3.16/rnd with all the bullet components I'm interested in which is nice

Barbies for men.
For real. US suppressors are so fucking ugly and gay and millennial coded. Like wtf is a "whisper pig"? Why are you driving the cost up by machining condom textures into it? Its going on the end of my gun not up my ass.
Why are you cerakoting it in "Rose quartz"? I'm buying a killing instrument accessory not a fucking iPhone.

The cost savings factor only makes sense for milsurp stuff. Where else I am supposed to get my Arisaka ammo? I'm not paying $3 per round

Sucks but I'm glad someone is getting the tooling. Hopefully there isn't a massive QC fall off. I just bought my Cetme LC kit too.

I dare you to find any item with this geometry outside of butt plugs. With the exception of plum bobs you can't. There aren't any. There was literally zero reason to do this and they fucking did it

Texture helps when removing it from the muzzle...
Also 9/10 you see with a design are printed and add a negligible amount of cost. Quit being a boomer

Every time I get the revolver itch I end up hating what I buy. First I got an sp101, that thing was cool but the takedown lever under the grip would come out after 3 shots, and wasn't fun to shoot. Then I bought a new colt combat 3 inch, that thing was cool and fun to shoot but weighs so much I never carried it.

What do gunkiwi? 686?
I run a Pietta reproduction of a Colt 1860 Army, but I’m a black powder nerd so it’s just for fun. They’re cheap so you might want to look into them regardless.

That’s exactly how I got into it. 7.7 Japanese is fun to shoot, but the ammo is nuts. 8mm kurz is probably cheaper from the factory

Shotguns are for the people who leave the gun in the closet and don't shoot regularly. It's the niche they fill, dummy proof and effective with minimum training.

Defensive shotgun use absolutely requires more trigger time than an AR does. What are you talking about?

No one who is out shooting regularly and doing drills is doing it with a PSA or BearCreek or whatever. They are using decent guns because a regular shooting schedule is facilitated by decent guns.

I regularly shoot both of my PSA AR builds. You need to go outside and stop being retarded. When I do head to a range and not my buddy’s farm, a majority of the ARs I see are PSA or similar ‘budget friendly’ rifles.

Your gear shouldn't limit your capability, it should drive it. Very silly to settle for "good enough" when what it takes to achieve mastery demands a certain standard of material and quality.

This sounds very gay and retarded. I remember the very early days of the late 2000s when ‘zombie shoots’ and really amateur three-gun competitions started becoming popular with local gun clubs. You’d have every poor hillbilly showing up with the most dogshit DPMS rifle you’d ever seen and they’d still do fine every single time.

You don’t know what shit qualify ARs even are.

Side note: Every take I've ever seen that is accompanied by grotesque descriptions of blasting away niggers has been a bad one. If the height of your ambition in this hobby is just out shooting a troglodyte it's hard to take you seriously.

Someone saying NIGGER on MY Kiwi Farms???? Inconceivable. Unless you are training for RUNNING GUN BATTLES during the COVID-30 ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE I just can’t take you seriously if you just want to defend your family.

gay and retarded. Shotguns are the most versatile firearms. there's a reason they are the best selling sub-type of firearm year after year for 500 years.

you can use it to kill the smallest bird or the largest bear. and it will kill both easily. you can spend next to nothing on a shotgun or you can spend over 100,000 dollars and any amount in between. they can be stark and utilitarian or refined and beautiful.

I just want a goofy fuckoff can twice the diameter of my handguard that will actually muffle supersonic blasts, is that so much to ask for?
Yes.

Sorry we absolutely cant figure out how to make a factory made suppressor completely hearing safe ever. Even though reddit 3d2a people have figured out how to make advanced plastic baffles as well as plastic suppressors requiring no neilson device.

Manufacturers hate fun.

Lol. Defensive shotgun use is stupid easy. Competitive shotgun use is perhaps the most tactiley challenging shooting sport. Huge power gap between good enough and exceptional.

The manual of arms for an AR-15 is way easier. The actual shooting of one is not. Learning and knowing you holds with unknown range shooting alone takes hundreds of rounds to be passable at.

Yeah... I'm sure trashheaps everywhere quiver at your name.

I think your core issue is competency exposure after reading this. You don't even know what you don't know.

Bitch can't even in2 reading comprehension trying to tell me about training curves and shit. Nahhh.

Shotguns are the most versatile firearms.
In other news: grass still green.

Couldn't agree more. Most of my carry guns have been full-size: Govt. length 1911, Staccato P, S&W Peformance Center 627 V-Comp. In fact, my Python Combat Elite is the most compact carry gun I've owned. I got one of those belts specifically designed for concealed carry, the kind with the steel band sandwiched between the leather to provide rigidity and support for whatever you have on your belt. Makes a HUGE difference. And I'm the kind of guy who wears my CCW everyday, everywhere, even to work.

One thing people forget is if you are used to only ever carrying compact and lightweight pistols, like a Cobra or J Frame or babby GLOCK, going to a larger firearm is going to take some getting used to. It's going to feel awkward for a while. Vice-versa going from a larger sidearm to a much more compact and lightweight model.

Personally, whenever I get a new carry gun or holster I wear it around the house unloaded. For the sidearm, it's to get used to how it feels while wearing it, and for holsters it's partly to get used to how they feel and partly to get them broken in and molded to my body. If I have to leave the house then I switch over to a carry gun that I'm already comfortable with and that's loaded. I'll do this for a week or two, after the first couple days I'll throw in practicing my draw with it, until it feels as natural as my other sidearms or holsters.

Yeah, going over it again it seems the one "win" the fed defense had was challenging the standing of Jensen since they tried to add AOWs to their complaint with a supplementary declaration instead of including them from the outset.
It was a pointless thing for the feds to challenge because you can just join the GOA and SAF/CCRKBA for $50 a year total and be covered as both a Silencer Shop Foundation and Jensen plaintiff. Gets you AOWs from the Silencer Shop side and engraving requirements gone from the Jensen side. Currently there are zero restrictions on the federal level in regards to making your own suppressor, sbr, sbs, or aow. Check with your state laws to verify that you are in compliant with those too. I live in California and there are no state level restrictions on AOWs, but there are on the other options.
