It is no secret that throughout our lives, we have been controlled by memes. As one philosopher put it,A meme (/miːm/ MEEM) is an idea, behavior, or style that spreads from person to person within a culture—often with the aim of conveying a particular phenomenon, theme, or meaning represented by the meme. A meme acts as a unit for carrying cultural ideas, symbols, or practices, that can be transmitted from one mind to another through writing, speech, gestures, rituals, or other imitable phenomena with a mimicked theme. Supporters of the concept regard memes as cultural analogues to genes in that they self-replicate, mutate, and respond to selective pressures.
"Free will is a myth, religion is a joke. We are all pawns, controlled by something greater: memes, the DNA of the soul."
Even here as a Kiwi Farms member, there are memes that you are exposed to, which could be how you feel that all autists are subhuman, or a sense of righteousness when exposing soneone based on their public posts, for example. What are the memes that control your life? How do you cope with memes that clash with your current beliefs?
ITT: we talk about the DNA of the soul.
