I can't get into my personal email because Microsoft security sucks dick. I reset my security info almost 30 days ago, and i haven't been able to access my account since then. When I try to access anything Microsoft, it asks me to sign in, then asks me to change my security info AGAIN, after telling me i would still be able to access and use my account during the 30 day period. I can't access ANYTHING. I cant even get into Microsoft Support to rant about it to the jeets there, which is why I'm making my first post here, after lurking for a long time. And of course, that's what this all ties into: Jersh was right all along. When you sell your company to a jeet, they will hire nothing but more jeets, make the buildings stink like curry and shit, and completely FUCK UP the thing that you spent so much time making. I swear, if i could figure out how Linux works, and get all my games and programs, I'd go out of my way to try and never use Microsoft again.

Feel free to add your own Microsoft hatred to this thread. Hope this makes it out of the Proving Grounds.

My very first encounter with Microshit was when I was given the PC version of Arkham Asylum as a kid. After installing it from the disc, the game had the fucking audacity to inform me that if I didn't have a Microsoft account I wouldn't be allowed to save my progress. Naturally, I decided that playing the Batman game wasn't worth it and went back to playing Minecraft like the little autist I was.

Years later, my autismblocks account gets deleted for not having a microsoft account connected to it. As retarded as it may make me sound, that was what finally got me to switch to Linux. I'm never looking back.

I hate, hate HATE sfc /scannow and how it's apparently the one troubleshooting tool to ever exist in Windows because somehow every single issue I run into is allegedly fixed by that magic switch, or upgrading my driver software.
Every single website is in this incestuous bloodline where they all point to the same shitty microsoft resource that suggests that shit as a fix and it's maddening when you have some issue and nothing actually tells you the source of that issue. Fuck the event viewer

My work laptop was force upgraded to win11 recently and what I've come to really dislike is this push for a visually different look in menus built on top of the existing menus which is both slow, functionally inferior and buggy.

The biggest fuck you is the contextual item right click menu that displays a visually larger menu with a fraction of the options.
It's infuriating dealing with a lot of tar and zip files in a gui and having the only way to open them properly be going through three different clicks to get to the 7zip menu and then being able to properly open or extract the file. Yes you can turn it off but then I could just turn off windows 11 and switch to a decent OS I'd be happier.

My work's win11 license also comes with that Copilot LLM thing.
The LLM itself is fine depending on what input you give it. It's a less shitty search engine comparing it to current search engines, provided you double check the output which it can just make shit up on the spot; I'm starting to be convinced search engines were gimped specifically so that this shit can thrive as a paid service. Being able to generate boilerplate code for a scripting language I'll never use and then tweak it as needed is a pretty neat feature I admit.
But the UI is buggy and clearly built on top of some unstable infrastructure that no one at microsoft is able to(or willing to) change.

You open it on startup and it has to, without fail, crash and reload in-window before you're actually able to use it. This will always happen, regardless if you've opened the piece of shit one second after you've turned your laptop on or a few hours into a work session.

Sometimes the the "stop responding" button actually stops the current response so you can ask another one, sometimes it just pauses the output and then resumes it once you've typed another topic in and you have to wait for double the time for the relatively slow typing animation.

Shit like Onedrive just screams opsec failure in the making. Thank god I deleted it from my computer the second I found out I had it.
Boomers always buy it. Microsoft's pajeet workforce knows from experience how gullible boomers are about basic computer shit, so they do what they have always done best and build scammy notifications about Onedrive right into the OS itself: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...-storage/d48ff231-b12b-4329-96f7-191a34e1efb5

I had an issue with the Microsoft Store app a few weeks ago which refused to connect to their service. It fixed itself last week and now it's offline again, LMAO

They half-assed the new UI. It's like the dark theme in Windows 10, it doesn't work with everything. The file explorer might have the dark theme enabled but the dialogue box remains white/light.
I remember when they said that Windows 10 would be built from scratch, it might have happened at one time but it is built over the old stuff. I'm sure you can get XP-era menus if you dig deeper.

I hate that they put ads into Windows 10 itself, as well as many of their apps.

I feel like the quality of their software, on the Windows side, has dropped over the years, at least when it comes to home consumers. For example, I use the Xbox app on both Windows and Android, and it's much more fully-featured and polished on Android.

I hate that they sacked the bulk of their in-house testers/QA staff, in favour of using bullshit insider programs to get members of the public to do it for free, and I think that's directly related to the drop in quality of their software.

I also hate how they've made it much harder to speak with someone on the phone if you have a problem, and, even if you can get to speak to someone, they often don't know what the fuck they're talking about.

I hate that I can't install Windows 11 without using workarounds cos my PC doesn't have a TPM. The performance of my PC is perfectly fine for my needs, so I'm not going to build a new one just so I can use Windows 11. The irony is, they supposedly did that for security reasons, yet it's caused a lot of people to be stuck on Windows 10, which they will stop supporting soon, making that increasingly less secure as time goes on.

You can still get Windows 3-era menus.
