Anyone else here a fan of old B-Movies and old-school sci-fi and horror? The kind of stuff that was typical of drive-ins, midnight movies on TV, and the grindhouses. Most of it was before my time but I loved watching them on VHS and DVD as a kid and would rent them from the video stores or sometimes buy them outright or get them from the local library.

The range I'm looking for is generally the 1920's to the 1970's, although there are some stuff from later years that are classics in their own right and I would consider part of a good B-Movie and Vintage Horror collection.

I would say The Curse of Frankenstein, the first hammer Frankenstein movie and overall one of their best movies. Stars Peter Cushing as Victor Frankenstein and Christopher Lee as The Creature, so also getting the two big Hammer stars.

However if you want something different or something without follow ups, The Devil Rides Out would also be a good starring point.

I was lucky growing up, the local station would have a "drive in" Friday nights and they'd show stuff like The Incredible Two-Headed Transplant, Frogs!, Trilogy of Terror and even Rats: The NIghts of Terror. Grew up loving that stuff and I used to raid Tower Records to rent all the Something Weird Video tapes they had. Love b-movie/cult/exploitation/horror flicks.

If you like Hammer, you'll love Horror Express:

It's like The Thing, set on a Victorian-Era train in Siberia. Lee and Cushing are present, and Telly Savalas has a cool cameo as a Cossack.
