I really like Tinkers Construct. Are there any gemmy mods that are similar?
Tetra if you're using versions that Tinkers' Construct hasn't gotten to.
Silent Gear is similar, but it doesn't really go into the smithing process like Tetra and Tinkers. You get blueprints, you make a tool part from the materials you'd normally make the full tools (think of the blueprint like a replacement for a stick when making a sword part), combine the parts, you're done. No smithing process, it's basically just normal crafting but with extra steps. It does have a neat feature of allowing you to convert vanilla equipment you get/make into it's counterpart but you don't get the option to change specific parts like the handle.
While it's a shame that barely any mods really touch on what Tinkers' did, it's probably for the better. Unless parts/materials of/from it are restricted throughout the game stages (early, late, end) or a modpack is based entirely around Tinkers' or similar mods mechanics, it just undermines the whole modpack. Why bother finding or crafting already made items when you can craft and upgrade your own that outpaces said items and just dumpsters mobs?
I almost never get offended, I'm talking genuinely offended rather than being overly dramatic. I've suffered through a lot of garbage either out of morbid curiosity, being dragged into it by someone else, wanting to know how bad something is so I can clown on it better, or because it's so bad it's amusing. This...this hurts me in a way I don't think I've been hurt in years. If I had to test if I was alive or not by watching something horrifically revolting just so I can feel something, this would be it. I expected this movie to be horrific but...fuck.
On a less revolting note, Shao made a new contraction that makes my head spin.

I'm not familiar enough with it to give a recommendation unprompted, but from what it sounds like it's just slightly less invasive Tetra.
Which is alright, since Tetra is rather invasive at times if you attempt to engage with it beyond 'i made my pickaxe mine slightly better', especially when working with materials it considers 'high tier'.

This is entirely accurate and why the niche of Tinkers' is understandably scorned by most people with functioning brainstems.
I think i could have gone without seeing that today. Oh well.

Edit: Got ninja'd, but I just saw the kiwi and thought of you guys. :heart-full:

It seems like Tinkers' still gets updates, though. It's on 1.20.1 at the moment. Am I mistaken?
Last i checked they were still waffling around on 1.19.2 while refusing to give 1.18 bugfixes it needed. Looks like they released a beta, so they'll reach 1.20.1 with a full release in maybe half a year.
Tetra's still better unless you absolutely need the molten metal and casting, i'd say. More easily tinkered with, at least.

At this point just go back to 1.12.2. Or 1.7.10 even.

Could anyone help a retard out? I made a test world in creative, liked its terrain, and wanted to make a survival playthrough on it but muscle memory got the better of me and I deleted it before recreating it in survival. Is there any way to get it back or at least find the seed? All I have are the logs and some pictures, deleting a Minecraft world ingame bypasses the recycling bin for some dumb reason.
