I think Industrialcraft has firearms, or at least lasers iirc. Maybe we should start with the mods posted in this thread so @Null can check for incompatibilities? So we don't end up with mod-bloat and a mess of a game.
 
I think we should prioritise some adminy ones first just to start up with. Unfortunately I have no idea what they're called. :lol:
Also, Worldedit, it'll get things set up faster if we can build a spawn-town thing with it.
 
I tried to make a modpack before I had surgery. I still have the files. I even made a logo.

Ok, so @Lasoona had an idea that we start out with just basic admining mods and maybe add on as or if more people come along. Also I suggested that maybe we have one complex mod to start with so things don't get boring as fuck.

So the list:
  • Whitelist
  • World Edit
  • a mod that disables block damage caused by TNT, creepers and fire
  • Some complex mod like Industrialcraft or Thaumcraft to give us shit to do.
  • As requsted by @Randall Fragg, a weapons mod, "Flans mod" is the only one I can remember, I don't know if it still exists though.

Yeah, important thing to do first is to check is all the mods are on the same game version. We're up to 1.10.2, I think mods for 1.10.0 may work since the change between the versions isn't drastic. I know World Edit (its up to 1.10.0) will *probably* most likely still work on 1.10.2, no new blocks were added.
 
Ok so @Null here's the mods I'm proposing for the server for right now:

  • Whitelist is apparently incorporated into Minecraft servers now so no need to download anything there I think.
  • World Edit is for 1.10
  • WorldGuard (which is the mod that prevents firespread and shit) is for 1.10
  • Industrialcraft has a version for 1.10.2 and 1.10
As for other mods, I looked at those and bring back this information to those interested:
  • All the firearms mods I can find are out of date. :( by at least one version.
  • Thaumcraft is out of date by a version.
  • Thermal Expansion is out of date.
I did some browsing and found RFTools, AbyssalCraft, which might be cool later on.

I send a PM to Nool with the basic mod suggestions, now to wait for him to set up the server. Hopefully before the trannies kill him. :(
 
Go for a good multi-mod pack like Feed the Beast or something. Usually a nice 20+ mods pack that gives plenty of variety for people to enjoy and use.
