honestly what kinda took me out of it
in the 2nd part
was
when 1 character meets the entity, the king in yellow
and it calls itself a king and went on a monologue of wanting to escape into our reality to rule over reality
before the character then tries find a way to stop it.
like the whole cosmic horror of "The King In Yellow" was that it never referred to itself as a King, and its actions and whatnot isnt explained or summarized in something so bland as "I want to rule/claim dominion of existence". The fact that it was a stranger/a foreign entity with foreign motivations that was never specified make it all the more horrifying since we cant grasp/explain its nature.
but thats just me when it comes to cosmic horror
hence why i find alot of attempts at cosmic horror is... less cosmic but more.. grounded horror

I couldn't find a 1.6.4 Spigot server jar, so I had to do with 1.6.2, but everything works fine so who cares.
DM me for a whitelist. (Preferably with an understandable title)
You can alter your in-game name to be anonymized afterwards. You'd have to trust me with your IGN. Join messages are disabled. The tab list shows your nickname as well as the chat.
In offline mode now. Will immediately go back to online mode if I see the slightest bit of griefing.
I'll provide some helpful files to add to your client;
- Forge (Installation file provided)
- LumySkinPatch (Installation file provided)
- OptiFine (Installation file provided, not recommended)
On another note, if anyone would like to help to provide a systemd service to make the server run without going into ssh, that would be very much appreciated.

i got jewed out of my account with the migration
i'd say do offline mode especially since it's whitelisted but get an authentication plugin where you have to type a password in chat every time you log in so people can't just log into each others accounts

You source me a password plugin for 1.6.2 and I might look into it, I'm not sure if the skin fix mod would work with it.

Do you have anything to help stem the inevitable tide of trannies sending you CP? Because they're the good guys apparently? Also, any mods? 1.6.4 had some of my favorites and was around the time I really went deep into them for the first time. Direwolf, Crash Landing, Blood and Bones, various FTB modpacks, what a time it was.
The thing with Cosmic Horror is how it's presented. which is also why most attempts fail. It's not a genre for the average person, the normie, as trying too hard to make the unknowable and incomprehensible knowable and comprehensible is to water down and ruin its purpose.

Added LoginSecurity, works fine on 1.6.2, which made everything easy for me to just drag 'n' drop.

That seems utterly retarded. Luckily for you, I despise modpacks and surveillance and made the entire server anonymizing. The only thing I could see from you is your username when I add it to the whitelist, and even that can be a cracked username. If you're really concerned that I'll give out your IP-addr, then go behind a VPN or something. But even without, there are so many bots trying to go into the server trying out exploits on every surface web open port that I wouldn't even be able to differentiate you from a bot.
So, if you want complete anonymity:
- VPN
- Cracked client w/ fake username
- /nick [nickname] in the server

That Chudbuds shit was fucking hilarious. I mean, I feel bad for the guy who got obliterated but that's what happens when you trust strangers on the internet.
TL: DR for the "incident," there was a website called Chudbuds.lol that got hacked, said hack was being spread via a Minecraft modpack. Someone here wanted to make a server for KF and wanted some mod suggestions, @byuu in his infinite clownery suggested the modpack that had the hack on it, straight up. And thus leading to the madness that happened in the thread Static posted.

Here's a simple guide for rabid mongrel retard boomers like yourself:
- Install MultiMC (This is to ensure the proper Java version gets selected and nothing goes wrong in the background. The default Minecraft launcher enjoys not doing any of that.)
- Click on Add Instance.
- Select 1.6.2.
- Optional: Installing QoL mods
- Click on Edit Instance.
- Click on Install Forge.
- Just install the recommended one.
- Go to Loader Mods.
- Click on Add.
- Add in Lumy Skin Patch, that I've provided above.
- Go to the Accounts tab.
- Click Manage Accounts.
- Add your account by clicking Add New Account.
- Follow the steps provided.
- After successfully logging in, click Launch.
