Modern existence is almost wholly inferior

Kids being born rn should probably just sui. Almost everything is worse about the 21st century, with limited exceptions like the quality of TV sets. And medicinal advancements... What else? It's all fucking shit.

Everything sucks. Everyone is a talentless hack putting out SHIT "media" featuring black vikings and trannies, rebooting yet ANOTHER series from the 90s or movie from the noughties (because talented people lived then). The internet provides a bizarre and unnatural means of over-socialization that compounds the issues. Before the internet, two facts:

1) In the 90s there was low exposure to autists and retards. On the internet, autists and special needs who are mute irl can be as loud if not LOUDER than everyone else, and have authority where irl they are ignored.

This means that in the 21st century, daily exposure to autists and retards is normal, and hence as a natural consequence, daily online combat when they say something moronic and you feel compelled to reply.

2) Humans are meant to have few friends in a social group that functions as an echo chamber. It's shown that friends tend to take on some behaviors of the other members of the group. We are meant to be insular creatures, not screaming at each other daily because the mute aspie is loud and obnoxious on Reddit and infuriating us into reacting.

This causes stress.

I have been trying to avoid all social media just for a week but it's difficult. I'm not young enough to where not being on the platforms is creepy serial killer behavior so it's fine to try it... There's an addiction which exists, even if you hate a community, to load it up knowing full well that you will feel angry and stressed.

When I spent yesterday, only one day, assaulting my senses with 90s nostalgia, I had an almost religious experience... I experienced a flood of memory like my entire life since birth playing out. All the horrors of the year 2023 evaporated into the sounds of 1995 school discos and gameplays of PSX classics.

Picking up giant tubs of cherry cola bottles in one of those wholesale warehouses. My family still being alive. Mr Bean VHS tapes...

This is bliss.

Existence ended forever in 2010. I'd even say 2007 realistically.

Hold onto the past but do not let it define you. Memories are a comfort but your present should focus on the joys of now and the growth of your future.

I will say this generation of children is definitely the dumbest and by a wide margin. I at least tolerated kids before but this is the first time I've actively disliked them.

Modern man has proclaimed himself sovereign at the crossroads of ideologies. This, his modern civilization, is not superior, it is not enlightened nor privileged. This man of progress is a decrepit man, a defeated, crepuscular man. In the dark as to whence and whither he is moving from nothing to nothingness. He has neither shape nor form, neither grace nor purpose and yet, in his cadaverous wisdom is glorified as the overcomer, the justifier and liberator
in an otherwise dark and superstitious world… or something.
Word words words I got this off of the back of a cereal box.

Label him a sperg or autistic all you like, even though he phrased it poorly he's not wrong. People's entire conceptions of the world are now formed by Spiderman, Batman, Wonder Woman, TikTok trends, etc... Look how many people thought Joker was profound? People used to quote John Locke and Marcus Aurelius or some shit, now people think a quippy Spiderman line is profound.

Shit was definitely going downhill in the 90s--some really good TV, lots of bad music, okayish movies... but the 2000s really started the decline.

Nowadays what's good? Lately even TV has been terrible, the only thing that is good is video games and who wants to play those all day?

Modern existence """sucks""" because:
>modern movies suck
>modern tv sucks
>modern internet sucks

Nigger, all these problems are easily resolved by going outside and touching grass

The problem is that other people are massively influenced by these things and it's spreading worldwide.

Also, everyone unfortunate enough to live in a city doesn't have much of an "outside" to go to. Of course, this is remedied by moving away from the city.

To be fair most people in the Western world couldn't even read until pretty recently so I doubt they were discussing any kind of sophisticated literature or philosophy.

I think that's still the case today, it's just so overwhelmed with all the commonplace stuff it's hard to find. There was a lot of junk produced in decades past that nobody remembers today.
And what's worth remembering today? And will it even be remembered today over the glut of garbage? Harry Potter?

I really don't know, it's too early to tell. However I do think we are at a low point when it comes to popular culture, sort of like the late 1950s when TV really took off and there was a lot of crap out there.

Mouse Utopia #25. Mice became recluses doing nothing but preening or fighting all day in their tiny apartments.

Ted Kaczynski's manifesto is accurate, but the fact is that people will always feel pulled towards convenience and laziness. It's like we're split into two different creatures... One pulls us to doing absolutely nothing but sitting on our ass 24/7, and the other doesn't have a say in anything really but it feels negative mental health impacts if that goal is actually reached.
