First things first, the only time I heard the phrase "X at Work" was with Cells at Work, so wtf. Second, I don't really get what are they going to do with this film. Is there even a conflict here or it's just a regular comedy (which can be nice once in a while).
It does remind me the stories of people getting a degree only to discover it's useless by the time they get out.

The original Monster's Inc. was such a perfectly encapsulated story that left no room for a sequel. I appreciated that their movies were written to be one-shots. Then the Disney overlords stepped in a said: " Merchandising Bitch!, Go make sequels!" That's how we ended with trash fires like Cars 2, The Incredibles 2 and Toy Story 4.

Can't see this really going anywhere. Like a Cars film. The first one worked best as a standalone story anyway. Also, I just got to point out... the new guy didn't know they switched over to laugh power? You'd think something like their world's most important company going through a major administrative shift that pretty much changed the entire landscape of their culture and purpose for being after its wealthiest CEO got caught kidnapping kids would've been front page monsterwide news.

Honestly, this should have been another movie. A tv series only works when you have enough jokes and talent to last throughout the years, which is something like this is lacking.

I don't know why I'm surprised that Billy Kristal and John Goodman are back honestly? I mean Hercules cartoon series back in the 90s was able to get James Woods to repising Hades. who at that time was already a career actor like Kristal and Goodman. Maybe becuase they waited 20 years to do a tv series compare to one year with Hercules?

Anyways yeah I don't understand how are main character isn't aware of the change from scaring to laughter?

Honestly, this should have been the second movie
fix'd. It was dumb of Pixar to go backwards with a prequel considering it created plot-holes that didn't make sense with the first movie.

I don't trust Pixar anymore... their creativity has been stagnant for quite some time. Toy Story 3 being a re-tread of Toy Story 2, the Incredibles sequel being an obvious cash-grab. Inside Out being a worse Osmosis Jones. The Cars films being used to push more merchandising. Onward having stupid LGBTQ pandering even though it's only for a few seconds.

This studio needs a reset button, or they should just stick to shorts and quit making feature films.

I just do not fucking care. I, as an adult man do not get much out of modern Disney. Shit like Moana, Frozen, Inside Out & Big Hero 6 isn't bad but it sure does bore me and this is not just because I am no longer a little boy who owns the VHSs for all of the old shit.

A few months back, I watched Princess & the Frog and Tangled (two movies that I had never seen before) and I adored them, which confirmed to me that Disney and Pixar really have just gotten worse. At some point, I will watch Soul & LUCA and if that shit isn't up to scratch, I will simply have to accept that I will never again watch a post-2016 Disney movie again because they deadass have not made anything that I've enjoyed since Zootopia.

Soul was surprisingly good and I've high hopes for Luca. Skipped Raya entirely, just didn't do it for me.

When I read the title, it sounded like a documentary about kiddie diddlers or something.
I think the show would've been more promising if was continuing right after the movie and not before the final scene. Kinda makes me think this is what Monster's University should have been and not the one we got.

Ratatouille, WALL-E, and Up form an ambitious trilogy of movies that transcend their bizarre storylines thanks largely to a team of filmmakers working at the absolute top of their craft. If any other studio had attempted to make these films, they probably would have been terrible. And then they capped that off with Toy Story 3, which is one of the best examples of the more traditional kind of films that earned them their fame and reputation. Since then, I’d argue that the only movies Pixar has made that have come close to that level of achievement are Inside Out, Coco, and Soul. That wouldn’t be so bad if they hadn’t made nine additional films of quality all over the damn place, but usually not rising above mediocrity.

Oh thank God, I thought I was going insane thinking Insane Out was great. The whole roadtrip aspect is of course tired at this point but I just love the world and characters so much.
