It just translates easier for people like Narcissa, he's a total nerd with a singular obsession, locked eternally in his room reading some dumb crap and doing 'arcane experiments' like his stupid video game shit. Totally a mage.

Edit: I actually think I've seen some paper on the subject of playing games using avatar of opposite gender actually messing with people's sense of self but hell if I can find it, something about the way our monke brain processes it all that leads to detachment from physical self and slipping deeper and deeper into fantasies about your virtual self.

Well, when you take someone with severe mental issues or autism and let them play vidya so much it rots their brain it's possible. Like I said, most people can easily separate real from virtual it's the people who have an issue with it that end up possibly affected and have their understanding of the way the world works warped and don't tell me Cosmo doesn't have an issue with that considering he thinks he's a real woman.

Lets not forget the actual ones with mental issues (not the ones changing out of laziness or convenience/sporting advantage) are like 1% or less of the population. They are WAY over represented online and in media. The internet corrals these fringe groups together and sort of exposes just how batshit crazy some of humanity is. I think the modern internet and these ideas / games /porn certainly encourage more of this, but even if it wasn't present these guys would still be around, being crazy in other ways alone by themselves, or in the past the village crazy/fool or whatever.

We as a society are so afraid to admit there are defects, issues, or lack of abilities certain peoples, races, or genders lack. Cold hard reality is life is not equitable, not fair, and there are things we are not capable of fixing in people yet. There are things certain peoples will never be able to do as well as others. Living in delusion only hurts everyone involved. You cannot solve a problem if you cannot (or refuse to) accurately identify the problem first.

I get what you mean, but even more basic than that, it has always been a struggle to survive on this Earth as a human. Its only within the last few hundred years that we have made things a lot easier and transformed the way we live through advances in vaccines, agriculture, communication, and technology. We have it very easy in terms of practical survival compared to our ancestors.

I don't think I agree with people being unable to cope with modern life when its so much easier and less stressful than the challenges humans have faced in the past. Its definitely different, but history shows us humans are adaptable and can survive if there is a will to. Imagine living in Roman times or a cave or a hovel during the great depression, scrounging for scraps and begging for work to barely get paid? 5 day work week and modern conveniences in developed countries have people living better than kings of the past.

I think what you said does have an impact but not a lot. Humans are adaptable and will survive. This trans thing is just pure mental illness. Idk if its physical defects in the brain, exposure to some chemical not yet identified, plastics in our cells, or whatever it is. I got a feeling it could be some of those. These things usually come out a few decades after if its something crazy like that. I guess we will see.
