@InfamyBrah isn't wrong, Imperial Japan did some absolutely awful shit during WW2 that rivals the darkest things Germany was doing about the same time. And Japan as a whole has a hard time owning up to that. It isn't taught very well in their classrooms.

But what Resetera and a lot of other people don't get is that there's a large difference between believing Japan didn't do that stuff, and actually endorsing or dismissing that stuff--that is, Sugiyama wasn't saying he was cool with genocide and cruel medical experimentation, etc. He was just functioning under misinformation, like somebody who had been convinced the world was flat or something.

So I guess "Rot in hell" for being misinformed, as they say on Resetera.

The issue here is nobody is honest and the whole thing has become a political cudgel to wield against the Japanese by their geopolitical rivals. It makes it hard for anyone to care when they're bombarded by demands from foreign nations to knuckle under on various random diplomatic issues over it every year.

They're not really banned but John (dark1x who does DFRetro) did a tech breakdown with the developers of Ion Fury. ERA called them out for their "transphobia" and kept tagging him, he refused to cut ties with them and instead said he was done posting on ERA then took a Twitter break because they were harassing him on there too.

John's no conservative or libertarian (like Colin Moriarty) and is pretty SJW himself but he was just not having their shit. They went after Dictator too, trying to get him to cancel John or something but he refused and told them off too. But he still posts on there and is really quite a SJW IIRC so they leave him alone now.

What’s hilarious is they try to run off people who actually do good work (digital foundry) and embrace retards like that brain guy. I forgot his name but he looks like the fat kid from stranger things got Down syndrome.

Gegenmiao had Chinese people involved but Manchuria was a Japanese colony, there was zero Chinese government or military presence there.
